  • I oversee the running of a22-member team of professional caseworkers and administrative staff that delivers services to individuals and families presenting with a myriad of presenting issues such as poverty, family violence, mental health and accommodation needs
  • I have also guided the team on trauma informed practices, risk management work and bodywork safety groupwork
  • I have also implemented an in-house mental health service where we collocate social work and clinical psychological services
  • I am also in the midst of embedding practice frameworks of Safe and Together (S and T) and Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality Model (CAMS) so that the team is equipped to manage the escalating demands of FSC work

  • I was working under the MSF pilot programme known as the Safe and Strong Families (SSF) which provides intensive home based intervention for a period of6 months to mediate protection and abuse concerns in order to prevent children from being unnecessarily removed from their families
  • I was involved in direct casework with families to safety plan, implement safety measures as well as coach parents in using alternative methods to manage their challenges in a safe and regulated manner
  • My work also involved frequent interface with systems such as the Family Court, Police, Hospitals and other VWOs to appeal, advocate and lobby for resources to ensure that the children and family’s safety were sustained
  • As part of the implementation of the pilot programme, I have also undertaken active roles in ensuring that the training needs of workers were met and mapped out
  • I have also coached the other SSF teams external from MSF in the areas of implementation of the programme to ensure fidelity as well as recurrence management in their cases
  • As I was embedded within the CPS team for this pilot, I was also performing some Child Protection Officer roles
  • I have undertaken investigative roles and provided supervision and guidance to younger officers
  • I have participated in various work groups to provide my inputs to work processes and tools used to sharpen practice
  • I was involved in a workgroup that looked at instilling Trauma Informed Practice in the organisation
