Tay Joon Young

I am Joon, a freelance musician looking to join Aureus Academy that strives to improve the music education scene in Singapore. I was first drawn in by this quote I found on the website: "wanting [the students] to learn music and develop a passion for learning". I feel this is an important guideline when being an educator and I strive to cultivate such passion in my students as well.

I am a graduate from Singapore Management University's bachelor's degree in Information System. I had a small stint in the banking industry but have decided that the arts is where belong. I am currently still actively performing and teaching the piano, trombone and cello in my free time. During my time working in Travelclef, a Music and Education company, I took on the role of System Engineer which helped to automate various tasks from marketing to logistics. I hope that I will have to opportunity to create a dynamic career with Aureus, working on coding aspects as well as music teaching.
