Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the daily running of deck operations, adept at working with crews that are from different countries with different languages, religions, and cultural needs. Instrumental in leading and motivating crews, training them to work together safely as a team.
  • Ensure that all aspects of the rig's marine operations are carried out in accordance to and within statutory and regulatory controls and guidelines.
  • Organizing and planning rig cargo efficiently. Carrying out calculations for rig stability and deck loadings, bulk transfers and cement jobs. Proactive with preventative maintenance, and carrying out repairs to marine equipment.
  • Participate in the Permit to Work system, Risk Assessments plus initiate the creation of new risk assessments when required. Experienced in conducting pre-job meetings, toolbox talks and after action debriefs.
  • Taking instructions from the Rig Manager, OIM, Tool Pusher and client and disseminating them to the crews accordingly.
  • Visible leadership by spending time on the deck and monitoring daily operations.
  • Consistently coming up with ideas and safe solutions to challenging tasks.
  • Actively pursue and maintain knowledge of all aspects of offshore marine operations and rig maintenance systems.
