With over 25 years in the oil and gas field, I have the privilege of exposure to a wide spectrums of roles and environments.
I started out as a management trainee at February 1998 and got to the post of hull manager at 2006. Throughout the 25+ years of work experience I had also performed numerous task with full enthusiasm on both sides of the business, be it construction manager, surveyor, client's rep, technical consultant, investigator, offshore service account holder. The vast exposure to the wide angle of work prospective has ensured that I have always had to view things from both sides and make decisions based this helicopter vision.
Throughout the years I had also been through numerous courses namely OSHA, Productivity, creative thinking, critical analytic thinking, customer relations, conflict management, project management, incident investigations, to name some. These course had equipped me with the correct skills from the start that allowed me to perform the previous mentioned roles.
During my time in the industry, I have had the opportunity to perform many roles and assumed many different responsibilities and traveled to a number of countries both in Europe, Americas and Asia. With this exposure of different cultures and work practices, I have had good knowledge of maneuvering in such environments.
In all my roles and responsibilities both in Singapore and overseas, I have on most occasions assume a role of leadership and had been able to lead with fare and just cause. Team work, knowledge and compliance is the core value of my leadership mindset and it had proven effective and satisfied customers.
Current responsibilities -
1) Ensure competence workforce is assigned to each and every project in singapore and on a global stage at Keppelfels oversea yards.
2) Finalize work plans of each project from pre-fab to delivery. Prediction of any hold points that may affect the progress and mitigation actions before it comes about.
3) Plan and execute supervision for oversea yards.
4) Plan and execute skilled workforce for offshore structural rescue missions.
5) Plan and execute equipment and materials allocations for local yards and offshore operations.
6) Plan for each welder's qualifications and upgrades annually on existing projects.
7) Plan for installation and welding sequence for very critical structures and ensure the correct procedure is adhered to.
8) Arrange and follow through each and every audit on a yard lever, including overseas yards (ISO 9001:2015/ EN 1090:1,2/ ISO3834-1/ ISO9606-1,2/ DNV C401/ ISO14000/ ISO37001).
9) Perform HSE risk assessment for hull operations and enforcement of the stated.
10) Perform work operation risk analysis for hull/projects for risk mitigations before start of projects.
11) Perform bridging documents for new class of projects.
12) Coordinate technical reviews with clients on a regular interval.
13) Technical consultant to NUS KOM lab for robotics automations.
14) Chief evaluator for major automation upgrades in the company and had traveled to numerous overseas yards and factories on study trips.
15) Engagement of clients on a regular basis on my guy's performance and any areas of improvements.
16) Evaluation of own department HSE performance weekly based on weekly HSE observation reports and weekly site inspections.
17) Work with QA on the welder's performance monitoring system. To perform corrective actions on under performing welders.
18) Employing manager for new senior officers and their OJT process.
19) Qualification manager for new welding procedure qualification tests based on AWS D1.1 and DNV C401.
20) Committee of annual cross BU HSE audits overseas.
21) Chief quality investigator for oversea BU.
22) Had performed rigs surveys for numerous clients both is EU and in Asia.
