DIRECTOR, G10 AND EMERGING MARKETS SPOT AND FX FUTURES TRADING ASIA

SOCIETE GENERALE
07.2009 - Current
  • This role has involved trading and pricing G10 and emerging market currency pairs and also market making FX Futures (including EFPS and Blocks on the CME, SGX and ICE)
  • Achievements:
  • During my time at Societe Generale i have contributed trading revenue of 2.5 mio EUR annually on average , which has been achieved with minimal sales flow business and the absence of a natural franchise in the Asian G10 fx trading business. Additionally,i have managed teams of both voice and electronic traders with a strong focus on risk management. I also spoke directly to customers for one year with a dual sales/trader mandate after i took on the FX Futures business in Asia

VICE PRESIDENT, GLOBAL FOREIGN EXCHANGE

CREDIT SUISSE
01.2002 - 07.2009
  • This position involved trading GBP/USD, USD/CAD, USD/ZAR and other emerging market currencies.
  • Achievements:
  • During my past two financial years at Credit Suisse, have managed to make trading revenues of 5.0 million USD and 7.0million USD respectively, both well in excess of budgeted target of 4.0million USD.

SENIOR DEALER, FOREIGN EXCHANGE

THE NATIONAL AUSTRALIA BANK SYDNEY
01.1999 - 01.2002
  • The position involved being an interbank price maker and trader on a customer and proprietary basis in GBP/USD and EUR/STG in both the late New York and Sydney time zones.
  • Achievements:
  • Increased annual revenue from 0.9 mio USD prior to my appointment to 1.5 mio USD. Also increased the Bank’s market share in STG products through individual contacts in the Sydney and Asian markets.

VICE PRESIDENT, FOREIGN EXCHANGE

THE CHASE MANHATTAN BANK SINGAPORE
01.1998 - 01.1999
  • The position involved being an interbank price maker and trader on a customer and proprietary basis in GBP/USD and EUR/STG in both the Asian and early European time zones.
  • Achievements:
  • Built a strong reputation as an aggressive STG/USD market-maker which enabled Chase Singapore to re-enter the interbank STG/USD market, where they had been absent for 2 years prior to my appointment. This profile led to a strong working relationship with the US hedge-funds sales desk and a marked increase in sterling flows emanating from their customer base.

TRADER, STERLING

ANZ INVESTMENT BANK MELBOURNE
01.1995 - 01.1998
  • The position involved being an interbank price maker and trader on a customer and proprietary basis in GBP/USD and GBP/DEM in both Sydney and Asian time zones.
  • Achievements:
  • Increased Sterling revenue from 0.5million AUD annually before my commencement to 3.0million AUD annually, despite the absence of any natural customer business. Through providing sales desk with aggressive and timely prices, managed to build a foundation of sterling flows and orders from interbank counterparties from the United States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Additionally, my personal marketing led to an increase in business from Australia-based banks who were not in the direct sterling market.

TRADER, EXOTIC CURRENCIES

01.1994 - 01.1995
  • The position involved being an interbank price maker in USD/SGD, USD/THB and USD/HKD in both the Sydney and Asian time zones. Also traded in selected currencies on a customer and proprietary basis. Currencies pairs included USD/ZAR and USD/IDR.
  • Related Achievements:
  • Through extensive marketing of interbank counterparties, managed to build a strong business as one of the few price makers in regional currencies prior to the Asian market open. This business provided a strong source of revenue to the bank that had not previously existed. Also, in gaining a high market profile, increased flows and customers orders to an extent that necessitated entering the direct market in USD/SGD, USD/THB and USD/HKD in the Asian time zone which was unique for an Australian-based bank.
