The annual DA Program provides outstanding teachers with a fellowship of a semester-long programme (mid-August to mid-December) in a foreign country. Singapore awardees participating in this programme will have their attachment in the USA. Applicants will propose individual plans for their attachment, including an inquiry project related to academic study and/or teaching.

The programme is based at a school of education at a host university, and visiting teachers worldwide may audit courses, attend conferences, conduct research, consult with educational experts, observe and teach classes, and learn about the educational system and culture in the USA. Other participating teachers come from countries such as Botswana, Finland, India, Israel, Mexico, Morocco, New Zealand, the Palestinian Territories and Taiwan. Singapore teachers get the opportunity to collaborate and engage in networked learning with them.
