The annual DA Program provides outstanding teachers with a fellowship of a semester-long programme (mid-August to mid-December) in a foreign country. Singapore awardees participating in this programme will have their attachment in the USA. Applicants will propose individual plans for their attachment, including an inquiry project related to academic study and/or teaching.
The programme is based at a school of education at a host university, and visiting teachers worldwide may audit courses, attend conferences, conduct research, consult with educational experts, observe and teach classes, and learn about the educational system and culture in the USA. Other participating teachers come from countries such as Botswana, Finland, India, Israel, Mexico, Morocco, New Zealand, the Palestinian Territories and Taiwan. Singapore teachers get the opportunity to collaborate and engage in networked learning with them.

The English Language Department developed a series of training sessions for staff to encourage the proper use of English in the classroom. This series of training sessions also extended to the administrative staff to support them in handling internal and external customers.

This award was given to the team that produced an innovation that could be used by schools across the country. The EL Cube was an online portal that teachers could access resources from as well as work collaboratively to improve teaching and learning in the classroom.
ASCD Book Prize for Best Critical Inquiry Project in the Masters in Education Programme

Awarded a $200 ASCD book prize for having the best critical inquiry project on Teachers’ understanding of pedagogic change and the impact on implementation.

The Post Graduate Scholarship is awarded to outstanding officers with a high potential to contribute to the education fraternity. I was given a local scholarship to do a Master in Education (Curriculum, Teaching and Learning) at the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University.
