I am an experienced educator who aspires to combine best practices from all the students and teachers that I have had the pleasure of working with around the world across a 25
-year career in this field. From the outside looking in, when people see all of the roles that I do at my current school, people might think that I have a hard time saying no. The truth is, however, when I see holes in a system, I do my best to address them in a way that's within my capabilities. That is how I challenge myself in my profession. I want to spend my entire career in education, trying to become the teacher I never had. And I am ready for my next adventure, and the challenges that await.

• Organization - managing department chair, PLC leadership, teaching daily, co-planning and teaching in ELA partnerships, PLC co-coaching, and basketball coaching at the same time for multiple years

• Curricular planning for reading and writing workshop with our literacy coach to bridge our Unit of Study, Reading, Writing curriculum based on standards and benchmarks
• Collaboration and file sharing with teachers of both Reading, Writing, and Science in Middle School from my days at American School of Doha until now
• Working with Middle and High School students on Global Issues Network conferences at both UWC and ASD
• Moving up since starting with second grade; Middle school as a natural transition from grade 5 at SAS, and now HS as a natural progression (in my mind at least) from my eight years in MS here at SAS
• Twenty years of experience with Reading and Writing Workshop (if that ends up being half of my role)
• My input for more science-based PYP units was thanks to my involvement with curricular planning and assessment in the area of science for four years prior to working at UWCSEA. I worked with our science coordinator to reshape all units and our report cards (piloted), which was introduced in Doha to the entire elementary staff my 1st year at UWC (if that ends up being half of my role)
