I am good in leadership as I been participated myself as a president in some club society such as Taekwondo club, Pokemon GO club and others in my university and my secondary school life which also organized some big event such as Sarawak Inter PvP Tournament as a chairperson and also cooperate with Sarawak Energy to organise STEM playground in Miri Sarawak.

  • I participated in a work and travel program that provided me the opportunity to go to the United States. I was fortunate to be assigned as an assistant manager at Malacca Cafe and worked as a server at both restaurants. Serving at Malacca Cafe, which specializes in Malaysian and Singaporean cuisine, allowed me to interact closely with customers and talking about Malaysian and Singaporean culture as a Malaysian but the majority of our customers were from Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and beyond who are happy to have a topic about their countries. My ability to speak Cantonese, Malay, Chinese, and English made customers feel comfortable and approachable. Many enjoyed chatting with me, especially during busy periods, which I managed through effective time management, quick action, and strong communication skills. On my last day, customers gathered at the restaurant to bid me farewell and express hopes of seeing me again in Malaysia or the USA. After business hours, I ensured all tasks were completed, including kitchen cleaning, sweeping, mopping floors, and restocking drinks and sauces. Additionally, I managed daily sales accounts, reports, and other administrative duties. As an assistant manager, I also handled various challenges such as resolving issues with incorrect orders, correct and guide servers' performance and attitude together with managing customer dissatisfaction, like difficulty securing specific seats during peak periods or dealing with a long waitlist of up to two hours. In more serious instances, I dealt with accidents such as customers accidentally cutting themselves or incidents involving heavy objects being dropped. This required me to use basic medical knowledge that I acquired for such situations. My experience at Malacca Cafe provided valuable lessons in customer service, operations management, and crisis handling, preparing me for future challenges in the hospitality industry.
