TracE Analytical Metals (TEAM) Core focuses on the development and evaluation of novel sampling and analysis strategies for assessments of exposure to smoke aerosols, e-cigarette aerosols, and particulate matter.

• Conduct rigorous scientific investigations and evaluate potential health implications for the WHO-funded project on chemicals in e-cigarette aerosols.
• Manage and maintain quality control (QC) analytical programs, ensuring adherence to Good Laboratory Practice Regulations (GLPs) for accurate and reliable results.
• Utilize analytical instrumentation, including gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), to detect and quantify chemical contaminants.
• Proficient in utilizing R to perform comprehensive data analysis, extracting actionable insights from research findings and translating them into evidence-based recommendations.
• Supervised undergraduates in adhering to safety protocols, including proper chemical and biohazard handling, disposal, labeling, spill cleanup, and storage.
• Have expertise in managing lab inventories to ensure compliance with permits and regulations.

• Conducted investigative research on the effects of cigarette smoking on epithelial cells and tissue models in vitro and ex vivo, meticulously following biosafety and hazard communication guidelines.
