- Collaborate with clients, the commercial manager, and the marketing manager to review and finalize all repair specifications.
- Facilitate daily safety coordination meetings with the vessel’s client, captain, chief officer, chief engineer, and yard’s safety and trade supervisors, acting as the ship repair manager in accordance with WHS regulations. Organize and lead the project team effectively.
- Oversee the overhaul of the main engine, various pumps, and piping repairs, as well as the installation of new components. Manage the blasting and painting of the entire hull, various tank steel work, and the removal, refurbishment, and overhaul of underwater machinery, including the propeller, intermediate shaft with bearings, bow thruster, stern thruster, and Azipull thruster, in collaboration with the owner-appointed manufacturers. Conduct repairs on sea valves, cargo valves, boiler systems, and EGE, as well as pressure testing on various pipes and valves. Perform crane load testing and oversee new installations with the owner's specialists. Execute pressure testing of enclosed tanks upon completion of repairs and conduct NDT tests on repaired underwater steel areas. Additionally, manage the overhauling of electric motors, bench testing, machining of windlass and mooring shafts, and bearing replacements.
- Compile a list of class survey items for inspection.
- Submit all calibration reports to the attending owner representative and surveyor.
- Provide comprehensive final work reports to top management and the commercial department.
- Prepare quotations for additional work, monitor manpower allocations for individual tasks, and manage overall project costs.
- Negotiate final costs with subcontractors and discuss the final draft bill with the owner representative.
