Job Responsibilities as a ICU:


  • Managing the patient with CVA, DKA, Sepsis, Pneumonia, COPD, STEMI, NSTEMI, APO, CCF, Unstable Angina.
  • Monitoring critically ill patients, assisting in intubation and close monitoring of ventilated patients.
  • Assisting Physician during invasive procedures such as central line insertions or arterial catheter placements, emergency chest tube insertions and close monitoring of patients.
  • Leading rapid response team in life threatening situations, Emergency Drugs during resuscitation, showcasing strong clinical judgment and decision-making abilities under pressure. (BCLS and LSCN trained).
  • Taking care of patients with IABP, who needs CRRT, ICU beside Intermittent Hemodialysis.
  • Monitored hemodynamic parameters and making appropriate adjustments to treatment plans based on patient response.
  • Monitoring and informing the ECG abnormal rhythms to the physicians and carry ot the physician,s orders timely.
  • Following physician orders and Administering the High alert medications, Inotropic agents, Vasopressors, Sedatives, Antiarrhythmic agents and monitoring patient's response.
  • Handling patient on Paralytic agents and BIS monitor.
  • Managing the post cardiac collapse patient who needs Target Temperature Management (Hypothermia Protocol).
  • Maintaining high standards of infection control within the critical care unit, contributing to a safer environment for both patients and staff.
  • Educate and guide the new staffs on hospital protocols and policies as Preceptor.
  • As a Senior Staff Nurse takes the responsibilities of Over all In-charge role in the ward and managing the issues and complaints from patient and their families.
  • Reporting and escalating the incidents such as Fall, Medication errors, Phlebitis, Pressure injuries to the ward supervisors and helping the juniors to complete the incidents report.
  • Managing the role of Fall auditor and doing the cross ward monthly audit.
