  • Developed high-performing teams by providing mentorship, guidance, and opportunities for professional growth. More than 30% of staff attained Professional Engineer certifications, and more than doubled the number of staff attaining Specialist Professional Engineer certifications.
  • Established a culture of continuous improvement. The Group won the Pro-enterprise Transformation Award - Gold in 2023 and MND Minister's Award 2023.
  • Orchestrated a new regulatory regime to boost productivity of the industry, through harnessing of technology. This includes leading the Group in developing the world-first standard for remote monitoring and diagnostics solutions for lifts, introducing a conducive rules to encourage the adoption of remote monitoring and diagnostics solutions, and setting out targets for the implementation.
  • Led the implementation of the relevant regulations for lifts, escalators and amusement rides. This includes ensuring compliance by the stakeholders, taking appropriate enforcement actions against errant offenders and review of related rules and policies to ensure relevancy.
  • Led a tripartite committee in developing the framework and implementation plan for the Progressive Wage Model (PWM) for lift and escalator maintenance technicians. This is also the first PWM for skilled workers.
  • Personal achievements include National Day Award - PPA(Bronze), National Day Award - PPA(Silver) and COVID-19 Resilience Medal.

  • Led cross-functional teams to adoption of sustainable policies for buildings, leading to contributing to Singapore's international commitments on carbon reduction. The Building Control Act was amended in 2012 to address energy consumption on existing building stocks.
  • Implemented tighter processes to shape the behaviour of the industry.
  • Increased transparency for industry on requirements for compliance, e.g. published an explanatory handbook on building design requirements (Understanding the Approved Document).
  • Improved productivity of industry as well as internal staff through adoption of IT solutions including a new portal for application for Temporary Occupation Permit (TOP) for buildings and an app for outdoor advertisement licensing.
