Taha Faiyaaz Basrai

I am an outgoing individual who is not afraid to go out of my comfort zone. Possessing a zest for learning about everything that excites and interests me, I regularly further my interests and learning in subjects that truly captivate my imagination. I love being outdoors and hence hold in high regard the need to 'go green' so as to protect Mother Earth. Aside from photography, I am an avid diver, having served as a Marine Firefighting Specialist conducting sea-based rescue and fire operations. I also possess a strong passion for mountaineering, and these experiences culminate into allowing myself to travel and immerse myself in new cultures and learn more about our vast world.

• Honed skills of 20 soccer players as the position of manager for my residential college. Secured a shirt sponsorship deal with Adidas and conducted team to a historical best finish in competitions
• Shortlisted for the 2nd Kumar Sustainability and Innovation Prize, with a business and scientific model on reducing bread waste by using black soldier flies. Pitched the business to Venture Capitalists
• Shortlisted for the Young SDG Leaders award, jointly organized by a subsidiary of the UN
