Scan the parcels individually that are to be delivered. After scanning the load we are to carry the parcels and arrange them by area in the van. The loads of the parcels can be up to 200 with different shapes and sizes.

The tough part of the job was carrying the big heavy parcels up the houses when the elevator are not working. The rainy days were a challenge too as we cant get some of the parcels wet.

We had to deal with some rude home owners too as they would not want to open up the gate for us when we were at the intercom.

But throughout this whole experience as a parcel walker it opened up my eye on how tiring the job actually is because it requires a lot of walking especially when the elevators break down.

• I was in the Environmental Health and Safety Department ( EH&S ) and was mainly in the admin side editing the old files and arranging the files to be in order. There will be times where I will go down to shopfloor to inspect for any hazards that are at the shopfloor for audit inspection
• Learnt a lot about the machines that were used in the aerospace industry as they were moving from Loyang to Seletar

I was treated quite badly here on my first day. I was bulled and I got scolded for not knowing what to do even though it was my first day. All of a sudden after 2 months of working with them, they stopped contacting me on what time I needed to report to work.

Nonetheless I gained experience on how to quickly adapt into my new work environment despite the pressure and ill treatment towards me.
