- Strategic Partnership & Leadership: Partnered with the Director of Clinical Risk Management to implement departmental operations and Risk Management activities. Collaborated with the Clinical Director and Office of Patient Safety and Quality (OPSQ) leadership to plan, develop, and execute strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing clinical quality and patient care.
- Administrative Management: Managed a team of 15 staff (Assistant Managers, Executives and associates) along with departmental administrative duties, including staff performance appraisals, staff development, budgeting, manpower planning, and work plan development. Supervised and trained staff members to ensure optimal performance and compliance with departmental goals.
- Clinical Risk Management & Safety: Certified Enterprise-wide Risk Manager from Asia Risk Management Institute in April 2024. Led proactive clinical risk management and safety efforts, including walkabouts, risk management reports, audits, and self-assessments. Supported the hospital's clinical risk safety program through thorough audit and compliance checks, aligning with Ministry of Health Ensure Safer Systems (MOH ESS) standards.
- Patient Safety Initiatives: Oversaw the planning, organization, and implementation of patient safety audit and compliance frameworks. Reviewed and developed patient safety awareness and teaching programs in collaboration with internal and external training providers, including SGH, SingHealth, and cross-cluster partners. The awareness collaterals include publications, media and events.
- Risk Analysis & Mitigation: Reviewed Risk Registers to identify high-risk processes, incidents, and initiatives for full Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) review. Analyzed clinical systems data to identify practices with a high probability of risk occurrence, implementing necessary mitigations. Facilitated multiple Enterprise Risk Management reviews on hospital processes for Risk Identification, assessment and treatment.
- Quality Improvement: Certified QI coach. Fostered a culture of clinical quality through communication, education, and training activities. Supported Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives to enhance departmental and hospital-wide processes. Coached multiple QI projects both departmental and hospital wide.
- Results Management in SGH: Driving and overseeing the overall results management in SGH, for timely and appropriate management of results, especially significant abnormal results as well as results with incidental findings suspicious of cancers. Led the team to formulate closed loop notification process for monitoring of these results so that no result is missed from follow up and patient safety is not compromised.
- Driving Safety Culture in SGH: Led the team to implement two important training programs in SGH as well as in Outram Campus.
1. TeamSpeak: Led the team for implementation of TeamSpeak in SGH in 2018, with the target to train 80% SGH staff in 18 months. The target was not only achieved but was exceeded. Since the implementation, overseeing the TeamSpeak trainings including organizing, maintaining attendance databases, managing trainers and ensuring to train all our new staff.
2. TeamChoice: Just Culture. Certified Just Culture trainer from "The Just Culture By David Marx". Leading and overseeing the overall implementation of Just Culture not only in SGH but in the Outram Campus. Collaborating with different institutions like SNEC, NDCS, NHCS and the external vendor for certification of our trainers, implementation at different institution as well as organizing the workshops for the managers and above. Till date, there are 25 trainers certified as well as more than 300 supervisors trained. Working closely with the team doing the SRE investigations and Root cause analysis to integrate Just Culture as a part of their processes to ensure staff psychological safety and improve our safety culture.
