General Wards (Feb - Dec/ 2021)

• daily ward rounds, board rounds, consultant led rounds
• reporting to consultants where necessary
• liaising between departments
• ordering investigations, providing emergency treatments, referrals, discharge summaries
• on-call shifts 6 times a month
• managing medical, surgical and obs and gyn patients
• engaging in Continuing Professional Development programmes by attending weekly CME sessions, medical conferences, workshops,
  and trainings

Covid Ward (Jan - Mar/ 2022)

• daily rounds
• managing mild to moderate Covid19 patients
• providing critical care under seniors' supervision
• performing procedures such as ABG sampling, airway adjuncts, etc
• daily clinical meetings with MDT consisting of clinical directors and a team of consultants
• ensuring infection control protocols and safety measures

General Surgery Departmental medical officer (Apr - Sep/ 2022)

Ward cover

• assessing pre op cases, clerking, tracing blood investigations, ordering routine investigations
• communicating between surgeons, assisting surgeons, anesthesiologists and theater team, taking informed consents
• clerking in surgical clinic

Theater duties

• observing in minor and major surgeries including laparotomies and laparoscopic surgeries
  - assisting GI and colorectal surgeries, breast surgeries and other minor surgeries
  - skin suturing and changing dressings
  - assisting in endoscopic procedures such as OGDS, colonoscopy and PEG tube insertions
  >On-call duties
  - on-call for emergency surgical patients, assessing and managing them, assisting in emergency procedures and operations such as ICD
  tube insertion, emergency appendectomy, laparotomies, etc.
  • Cardio-vascular surgery & Renal Transplant Departmental medical officer (Oct - Jan/ 2023)
  >Ward covers
  - assessing pre op cases, clerking, tracing blood investigations, ordering routine investigations
  - preparing cases for transplant pairs preliminary board meetings
  - communicating between surgeons, assisting surgeons, anesthesiologists and theater team, taking informed consents
  - clerking in Cardiology clinic, basic knowledge in ECG and echocardiogram
  >Theater duties
  - scrubbing in and observing cardio-vascular and renal transplant surgeries (3 days/ week)
  - assisting minor surgeries such as AVF formation
  >ITU duties
  - monitoring and managing post-op patients in ITU and CCU under supervision of specialists
  - changing dressing, taking out pacing wires and drainage tubes
  - learning and assisting procedures such as endotracheal tube insertion, trans-esophageal echocardiography, arterial line and USG guided
  central venous catheter insertion, and USG guided regional nerve block application
  • Surgery Ward (Feb - Nov/ 2023)
  - managing patients of different surgical specialties such as neurosurgery, orthopedics, general surgery, cardiovascular surgery, urosurgery,
  plastic surgery.
  - pre op assessment of newly admitted patients, pre op investigations and management, liaising between surgical team, anesthesiologist,
  theatre team, physicians and patient's family
  - giving post op care according to guidelines
  - giving health education, informed consent, discharge
