• The core objective of the role is to return vessels to their full operational condition after Major Repair and Maintenance works with all regulatory issues rectified and generally in a good state of repair
• To reduce OPEX & off-hire on long term
• Plan and execute the docking in a safe and efficient manner at cost effective location
• Prepare accurate repair specification followed by RFQ/Yard comparisons, finalizing the locations of docking basis Global cost comparison
• Preparation of Block deal contract with shipyard(s), sub-contractors, vendors for the docking services to be performed during the docking
• Collaboration with all stake holders including Docking Superintendents, Coating Superintendents, Technical / Marine Superintendents, Ship crews, Shipyard & vendors to execute the planned works in a systematic approach
• Supervision and monitoring of each Project with Work progress tracking, Cost tracking on daily basis and make sure timely redelivery of the vessel is paramount with safety of vessel at the best
• Final negotiation with shipyard, vendors and subcontractor’s basis block deal prices agreed and to make sure the cost is reported within the approved Budget
• Maintain the database for the cost variation, additional works, technical input from each project to facilitate the consecutive D projects.

• Implement procedures and guidelines as described in Company Quality manuals and other instructions as issued by management
• Monthly review of class status reports of various societies (Lloyds, DNV, ABS, NK), and update 5 yearly planning dry-docking schedules, circulate to the concerned parties within organization
• Prepare lifetime expense report of the ships (capex & opex) with detailed docking budget for the vessels due for docking in the next financial year in close coordination with Hull superintendents, Vessel Managers & Docking superintendents
• The reports are focused in order to facilitate decision making process on the running life of the ships
• Plan and coordinate with Hull superintendents to arrange voyage surveys at least four (4) months in advance to complete the UTM gauging of the ships and assess the steel and coating condition
• Prepare Technical repair specification in close co-ordination with vessel staffs and Vessel Managers using DD-software REFMAN, review the final specification with Vessel Manager / Docking superintendent / Dry-docking director and finalize at least 3 months advance prior to docking
• RFQ to various shipyards for the vessel’s due for docking at least three (3) months in advance with respect to the ship’s trading pattern
• Prepare Yard Comparison reports based on the quotations received, evaluate and report to Management for the cost-effective docking after due consideration of location and deviation point
• Follow up and correspond with shipyards to finalize company’s Standard Repair contracts & Block deal agreement etc
• As applicable including demurrage clause
• Record copies of each Repair Contract agreements, Quotations and correspondences
• Plan and list out the requirements of major & long lead items such as anchor chains, Hull/ Hold/Tank paints, Spares for the Stern tube seals, ME Turbocharger, Steering gear, Valves, Zinc anodes & other consumables from the planned docking
• Negotiate with makers / vendors in advance to fix the price
• Prepare docking Budget estimate at least two (2) months in advance in the company’s prescribed format, obtain approval from the Management and Principals
• Prepare detailed weekly cost-Update-Reports for Shipyard & Owners Arrangement to control the expenditure on the ongoing projects On completion of repairs, assess the shipyard draft invoices thoroughly basis quoted price, delivery time and remarks made by the Superintendents
• Negotiate with Yard for an amicable settlement and at the same time to make sure the company receives the absolute minimum cost from the completed docking
• On completion of docking, prepare drydocking variance reports for each docking and send to principals/commercial for final approval
• Identify areas for improvements in systems and advise Dry-docking director
• Work with members of the Project team to provide seamless information transfer
• Support on site dock team as required
• Develop and implement plans that include analysis of cost-benefit or return on investment (ROI)
• Analyzed various hull performance solution paint schemes with best ROI, in compare with ship's actual voyage patterns, voyage parameters, temperature & idle period
• Actively involved and contracted multiples of value addition projects such as EGCS (Exhaust gas cleaning system) , BWTS (Ballast water treatment plant), MEWIS ducts installation with success
• Being an active project coordinator to each of the above projects with utmost confident, taking the responsibility from the contracts to negotiate with makers, vendors, service providers, shipyards, logistics company, classification society & engineering company to get the best for the company’s goals.

• Check, review and interpret Owner’s work specification, clarify with clients regarding Technical aspects & equipment details as required.
• Prepare cost estimate & quotation complete with schedule of completion for the major conversion, Up-gradation & installation works such as,

>Conversion from Container to Live Stock Carrier >Container to Geo-Technical

>Supply vessel to Seismic vessel Double Hull conversion

>Up-gradation of flat Barge to new accommodation on barge.

>Installation of Offshore Crane, Diving System >Components/Equipment, ROV Completion scope of pipe lay vessel.

• On review of Technical specification from Owner’s, liaise with Engineering and Production to obtain relevant information on the projects if necessary..
• Upon preparation of cost analysis and risk involvement of the major projects, display to the management prior submission of the Tender to client. Submit the quotation on approval of management.
• Meet clients, provide clarification if necessary, negotiate and secure the project.
• Circulate the estimated man-hours to production to control the cost upon awarded.
• Prepare Quotation in unique estimating software “MARINER” for the periodical survey/ normal / routine / emergency repairs of the various ships.
• Provide on job training to Trainees/Junior estimators on Mariner Software.

• Estimated & Secured Major Up-gradation of Oil Rig (Structural modification, Leg extension, Complete Up-gradation electrical system in about 500Km of cable laying & termination including various Instrumentation / Automation / Safety systems.

• Secured major steel & pipe renewal upgrade on OIL RIGS and various other ships.
• Secured Ultra-Max ship's crane damage repairs that involves cropping existing damaged crane boom, fabricate and installation of FWD end structural. Complete removal, overhaul & renewal of hydraulic pumps for the damaged crane.

• Prepare Tender bid for ship’s Afloat repairs (Steel renewals, pipe line renewals & valves overhauling), follow up and bill to the clients as per the actual quantum.
• Prepared Annual Maintenance contract for maintenance of scientific equipment,
• Design, Draft, Estimate & Major Fabrication of scientific gears,
• Assisted in servicing of Navigational & Radio equipment.
