ABSTRACT
- Gasification is recognized as one of the most promising technologies to convert low quality fuels into more valuable ones. The principal problem related with the use of biomass in gasification process is the high amount of tar released during the pyrolysis step. It is thus necessary recover tar and to form transform it in lighter combustible gas such as CH4, CO and H2.
- In this work experimental results of a medium industrial scale plant feed with rice husk and having a capacity of 5kg are presented. The gasifier is composed by a downdraft gasifier which is followed by a secondary fixed bed reactor filled with tar conversion.
