· Joined Singapore General Hospital (SGH) in 2010 till date.
· Attached to Ward 48 oncology In 2014, after attained advance diploma in Oncology, I was posted to Ward 68.= Isolation
· One of the oncology trained nurses in Ward 68, I played an important role in assisting in administering chemotherapy for patients. I have Been in Ward 68 for 9 years, i am well verse in caring for patients with isolation precautions and emerging diseases such as Ebola, Monkey Pox, MERS and Covid patient.
· During COVID-19 period, Ward 68 is the main COVID-19 ward. In 2020, during COVID-19 initial period where treatment was unknown, COVID-19 was treated as one of the emerging diseases around the world. I was one of the emerging diseases champion that was identified by my supervisors to assist in training other healthcare professionals on donning and doffing of enhanced personal protective gear and emerging diseases processes such as collection and despatching of specimen for emerging diseases patient.
· In 2021, COVID-19 viruses started to mutate; patients admitted were sicker and required airway support. I was selected to go for crash course on intensive care preparedness training (ICPT). ICPT is a 3-day course for nurses who are not critical care trained to learn the theory and management of intensive care unit (ICU) patient. After attended the ICPT course, I was assigned to care for ICU patient in Ward 68 with guidance of critical care trained staff.
· In 2022, as more COVID-19 pregnant patients were admitted for delivery in Ward 68. I was also trained to assist the gynaecology nurses to deliver baby in Ward 68.
· Likewise, more immunocompromised unvaccinated COVID-19 patients were admitted, chemotherapy was needed as part of their treatment plan. I continued to be the key person in administering chemotherapy for this group of patients.
