My working experience and achievements with Great Eastern Life is summarised as follows:
1997 - 2004
I started as a COBOL programmer maintaining and enhancing the mainframe life administration system. I moved on to be a software analyst along the way.
2004 - 2008
I had an opportunity to work in projects like claim process workflow (using IBM MQ Workflow) and NB registration and integration with Expert Underwriting System (Swiss Re Magnum Expert Underwriting Engine).
Year 2008 - I was assigned as a Business Analyst to a newly developed web based life admin system replacing the mainframe legacy system. Started as a Finance (Fin) and Reinsurance (RI) Business Analyst. I was involved in the later part of the migration for RI data and the functionalities to this new administration system. In this new assignment, my job scope includes product launch, system enhancement, maintenance and new initiatives related to these 2 modules. My role as BA involves requirements gathering, impact analysis, documentation, provide solution and perform testing and handling of production issue.
In Fin module, I was also helping user in accounting and ILP reconciliation and troubleshooting between systems (system integration between the core system and OFIN).
2015 - 2017
Participated in AnH product migration from AS400 to the Web base core admin system. My role in this project as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) providing analysis, review and solutioning for the enhancement. I was assigned as the Requirement Lead in phase 2 of this project for Hospitalisation products.
Year 2018, I was promoted as lead BA for a team of 15 people.
In April 2019, I was assigned as Regional lead BA for Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.
My last project with GEL was the privatisation of Dependent Protection Scheme, Sep 2020 - April 2021. I was the requirement lead for the project, overseeing the data migration and the implementation of the new scheme. Coordinated cross-functional and system teams and provided requirements gathering and analysis. Working closely with the IT team, various business department users and the CPFB for the business requirements, billing and payment processes.
Extra curricular:
In year 2010, I was a CMMi ATM member. I was a member of a working group helping the company to establish standardisation of IT processes and to obtain CMMI level 3 certification. Creating documentation and guidelines for E2E process integration, operating procedures and templates for business analysis and testing processes, resulting a more effective and efficient project delivery.
