I grew up in a non-Christian family. I received Christ at secondary two and subsequently received my baptism on August 5, 2022.
In my youth, I was actively involved in various ministries. I served on the planning committee of the youth ministry and was also a musician and worship leader during main services. While studying at St. Andrew’s Junior College, I served as the secretary of the Christian Fellowship, my chosen co-curricular activity.
My passion for teaching mathematics led me to become a math teacher, and I taught for five years. During this time, I cultivated skills in pedagogy, communication, classroom management, teamwork, and organizing school events. My teaching philosophy has always centered on the idea of teaching for understanding.
After five years, I resigned from my job to pursue a master's degree at Singapore Bible College, aiming to deepen my knowledge and understanding of God’s Word.
According to the Clifton Strengths Finder test, my top five strengths are Connectedness, Individualization, Achievement, Empathy, and Developer.
Tutoring was God’s provision to finance my master’s degree at SBC, and I also pursued it to upkeep my content knowledge and teaching skills. I have helped many students make vast improvements to achieve Distinction at O-Levels.
From 2013 to 2018, I served as a full-fledged E/A Math teacher at Unity Secondary School.
In 2022, I served as a contract adjunct at SCGS for a period of 6 months.
