I am a diligent individual who has the motivation to make sure everything is done as professionally as possible. I possess communication skills which enhance my customer service, allowing me to convey messages effectively, making sure I have a greater understanding of the customer’s needs, providing the best services needed. I consider myself a collaborative individual, as I can work very well with others, talk openly about achieving team goals and especially being able to hear various ideas and perspectives from those around me. I had the opportunity to work as a catering assistant, where I had assisted with the scrubbing and the sanitising of the shop, as well as having the chance to serve dishes to the customers and learning how to prepare certain foods. This experience allowed me to utilise all my skills, such as adapting to new environments, organising and maintaining productive work conditions and being able to manage my time successfully. I am a friendly, sociable, and an outgoing person, as I can get along with colleagues/peers very well, as I bring the positive energy to any situation. The reason as to why I desire this job is because, truthfully, I would like to be able to strengthen more skills which I need working on, such as self-motivation. With this job, I will be able to become more independent with achieving my goals as well as being able to rely more on myself first, before seeking another person’s assistance. I am learning that money is quite valuable. So being able to have this opportunity will benefit me greatly, especially as a university student who has been struggling with the demands of rent. As a young adult studying at Keele University, I aspire to be a physiotherapist and achieve the best for myself, my family, and for the future. I can also say that I do have experience with working as a team, in 2017 I was selected to join a professional basketball team called Leicester Riders where I went on the win championships. Being on the team helped me develop my communication skills as well as my teamwork skills to be able to bring out the best of the team. I wasn’t appointed captain however, I do have the skills and traits of what a captain would have, for example, I would be making sure that the team was in control of the court and make sure the my teammates wouldn’t sulk after a mistake as it would ruin their mentality etc.
