Sean Heng

I have been a science-stream student throughout my three years of high school, consistently maintaining excellent academic performance. I developed strong organizational and study habits, including taking detailed notes, summarizing textbook content, and sharing resources with classmates to support their learning. I am proactive in completing tasks efficiently and often use extra time to work ahead on additional assignments.

I am proficient in English (IELTS 7.5) and have been offered admission to multiple universities, including Monash University, NTU, NUS, Heriot-Watt, and Curtin, and I am an ASEAN Scholarship recipient. I am currently a first-year Civil Engineering student at NUS, with a minor in Economics.

Beyond academics, I have held various leadership and creative roles, including being the Design Team Leader, Choir Leader, and Band Vocalist and I am currently the Committee Member in Recreation for the Malaysian Club in NUS.I also organized volunteer programs, including a beach clean-up and a turtle release initiative at my secondary school, fostering community engagement and environmental awareness.

During the period between high school graduation and university, I engaged in self-directed learning, including Japanese language, stock market trading, engineering and architecture concepts, media production, and recording and producing music.

I am passionate about combining technical skills, creativity, leadership, and community involvement to contribute effectively in both academic and extracurricular environments.

I have a wide range of hobbies and interests that complement my academic pursuits. I enjoy exploring engineering concepts and reading about architecture and design, which nurture my creativity and problem-solving skills. Music is another passion of mine—I am a vocalist and choir member, and I also play instruments such as guitar and piano. I enjoy sports, which help me stay disciplined and focused, and I like cooking as a way to be creative and relax. Additionally, I am interested in planning events and leading design projects, combining organization, teamwork, and creativity to bring ideas to life.

After high school, I self-taught stock market analysis and trading using online resources, with guidance from my family and mentors. This experience improved my analytical skills, discipline, and decision-making in a dynamic environment.
