- Background Information: Monthly meter readings for quay cranes are tedious and repetitive to collect.
- Objective of the Project: Aimed to streamline an doptimise the process by extracting meter readings from Yaskawa & GE PLC.
Goal: Send the extracted data to a central readable folder for easier access and analysis.
- Achievements:
- Developed a Python application to automate the entire process.
- Automated data collection from cranes (Yaskawa & GE PLC.) and Maximo.
- Eliminated manual errors and repetitive tasks.
- Automated daily Maximo file extraction, optimizing maintenance work.
- Potential to save PSA over 120 man-hours compared to traditional methods.
- Developed a Python script to automate data collection and compute kWh consumption for the Energy Infrastructure department.
- Streamlined monthly data compilation process, adding efficiency to operations.
