The Patient Service Associate (PSA) plays a crucial role in providing excellent customer service and administrative support to patients and visitors within the hospital setting. Responsibilities:
Patient Reception and Registration:
Greet patients and visitors with a warm and welcoming demeanor.
Verify patient information and update records accurately in the hospital's system.
Guide patients through the registration process, ensuring all necessary forms are completed.
Explain hospital policies and procedures to patients and their families.
Obtain necessary consents and signatures.
Appointment Management:
Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments efficiently.
Manage appointment calendars and ensure optimal clinic flow.
Provide patients with appointment reminders and preparation instructions.
Communication and Information:
Answer phone calls and address patient inquiries promptly and professionally.
Direct patients and visitors to the appropriate departments or services.
Provide general information about hospital services, visiting hours, and other relevant details.
Administrative Support:
Maintain organized patient files and records.
Process payments and handle billing inquiries.
Assist with the preparation of reports and other administrative tasks as needed.
Manage inventory of office supplies and ensure adequate stock levels.
Customer Service and Patient Experience:
Address patient concerns and escalate issues to the appropriate personnel when necessary.
Ensure a comfortable and supportive environment for patients and their families.
Proactively identify and address potential patient needs.
Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to privacy regulations.
Collaboration and Teamwork:
Work collaboratively with nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals.
