With eight years of experience in volunteer management, I have effectively coordinated diverse teams and implemented programs that enhance volunteer engagement and effectiveness. Indoor gardening is best described as overcoming a lack of natural space by creating an artificial garden environment in our home. It is beneficial for those living in apartments where there is no to garden on. No soil, no growing season, just water and technology, why not? That has spurred me to pursue the courses of Indoor high tech farming (Basic - Advanced). Research shows that gardening can be helpful in easing concerns around food security which 10% of Singapore households have faced food insecurity for the past 12 months and it's a great boost for mental health. Plants are fantastic air purifiers, with a little bit of planning and effort, I take pride in completing assigned tasks, and seeing the results of consistent work and have cultivated a wide variety of vegetables, fruits, and herbs indoors.
Mycology is primarily concerned with fungi and explores its genetic and biochemical properties. Alongside, it also examines its taxonomy and how it can be used by human beings as a source for traditional medicine & food. I have began the oyster mushroom experiment by cutting out a piece of tissue culture from the fresh oyster mushroom from NTUC supermarket, and drop into a glass of jowar grains, that have been sterilized for 60 minutes at 15 PSI with a pressure cooker. Subsequently the grain spawn is pour into the mushroom bag's made up of sugar cane pulp I got from the hawker centre uncle stall (most mushroom growers use hard wood sawdust as substrate). Oyster mushroom can be harvested after 5 weeks in cool and dark place, my last harvest weighed 106g for each cluster.
