Plant controller (FP&A) of the Malaysia plant

• Regional Malaysia role
• Site Senior Leadership team (SLT) member of the Malaysia plant.
• Reporting directly to CFO of Heraeus Electronics in Germany (HQ).
• Dotted line reporting to Plant Operational Director.
• 3 Direct reports (2 in AP & 1 in AR) 3 Indirect reports (Shared service team in China – Costing / GL / FA)

Key duties as Controller:

• Yearly full plant budget preparation
• Budget presentation to the Global Management Committee
• Five-year roadmap preparation
• Monthly rolling forecast preparation & presentation to Global
• Monthly site performance review & presentation to Global
• Site KPI Coordinator & Controller
• Cost controlling activities (OPEX)
• Internal cost savings projects sponsor & reviewer.
• CAPEX Spending Management
• New Product costing & Business cases preparation
• Local contact point for authorities such as IRB, Auditors & Govt linked agencies.

Key Duties as SLT member:

• FTE/HC Planning and justification to Global
• Local compliance officer
• Site EHS Committee member
• GEMBA Committee member
• Key personnel in site decision making.
• Involvement in employee job retention and satisfaction activities (Coffee talk, 360 survey & one on one talk with team members & across other departments on random selection every bi-weekly)

Ad Hoc:

• SAP material master maintenance role
• Report automation using Qlik & BI tool for operations.
• Working capital management (DWC)
• Site firefighting team member.
• Yearly MIDA Submission.
• Site LMW Auditor.

• In charge of total costing department of the company
• Lead a team of two people report under myself on costing and statistical matters.

Additional Duties:

• Prepare & present monthly manufacturing performance report for the whole Company and present it to Manufacturing director, CFO & COO.
• Preparing manufacturing budget
• Review the need for cost revaluation
• Review inventory reports
• Prepare product costing and profitability analysis for Domestic & export marketing team for new product
• Computing Transfer Pricing to fellow affiliates company
• Data Analyst for the project ENERCON

• In charge of total costing department of the company and its subsidiaries
• Lead a team of three people report under myself on costing and statistical matters.
• Prepare and present month end variance analysis report on production results monthly basis.
• Perform yearly cost revaluation
• Prepare inventory reports on monthly basis
• Handle all inventory related matters & year end stock count of the company.
• Initiated the project focusing on reducing provision on slow moving inventory since Aug’17 and managed to achieve a reduction in the total inventory provision of Malaysia group by RM1.6m.
• Ad hoc Internal audit. In 2016, performed internal audit on company packing materials and highlighted to the management on areas to reduce cost & successfully have helped the management in cost reduction of RM0.35 in every SQM produced. In total a saving of RM700k.

• In charge of month end closing process in SAP
• Preparing manual month end closing reports such as Manufacturing Variance analysis.
• Extracting information from SAP to compile into manual manufacturing reports.
• In charge of month end inventory closing processes and variance analysis of inventory
• Preparing product costing for MITI application
• Preparing intercompany reconciliation reports
• Maintaining Fixed Assets reports such as FA additions, retirements, transfers, and CAPEX reports on monthly basis.
• In charge of monthly presentations of manufacturing results (financial aspects) to regional management in Singapore and India

• Managing a team 6 audit staff in undertaking all audit assignments.
• Handled two IPO clients who were successfully listed in SGX Singapore.
• Handled Internal Audit assignments for SGX listed clients and their subsidiaries in Malaysia and Singapore.
• Review all audit work done by team members for all the assignments given.
• Handled projects with very tight deadlines and met the deadlines on time given.
