This trading company aims to create new business, establish and also invest in projects.
In this job, I am required to create new businesses for my company and also to maintain/expand existing businesses.
The whole business model does not solely focus on buying and selling products.
I also act as an “agent” for our suppliers or buyers.
Therefore, I also function as a solution-giver and to create new ideas of business model to my suppliers and buyers.
I work very closely with my suppliers and buyers in order to understand their company’s directions.
From this, it enables me to find the best ways to participate in creating a win-win solution for every party.
Therefore, my job requires me to travel overseas and domestically quite frequently.

I work in Mitsui Malaysia branch, which is also a hub for Mitsui group in global purchase for palm oil (RBD Grade) from Malaysia and Indonesia.
I buy and sell palm oil to Mitsui branches in Japan, Taiwan, China, Philippines and Vietnam.
Meantime, I also trade palm oil within Malaysia for any profit opportunities.
Yearly sales of palm oil were about 223,000mt which equivalent to Rm245mil.
To strengthen my accuracy in purchasing/selling decision, it was required of me to closely monitor Bursa Malaysia Derivatives, BMD palm oil market as well as Palm oil physical market in order to buy and sell at the most profitable prices.
Other than that, I did information search and study for other markets like CBOT/ECBOT for Soyoil market, NYMEX crude oil price and etc.
This information was also shared amongst our counter part offices in Asia pacific as well as other countries in Europe and America.
I work closely with suppliers like the Wilmar, IOI, Sime Darby, KLK, Felda, Keck Seng, Mewah and etc. in order to establish a strong relationship for future co-operations i.e. joint ventures in land acquisitions for palm oil plantations and tolling businesses for refinery.
So, my job required me to travel overseas and domestically quite frequently.
