With the education background and tracks selected, I am equipped with the knowledge for finance-mathematics-related projects.
The mathematics major background allows me to comprehend the analytical models used; and the business modules I've taken, along with the free time invested in studying relevant topics put in a better starting position than other non-business students.
On top of these hard skills, the extra-curricular activities I participated gained me adaptability in different circumstances, as well as teamwork projects that requires critical analysis and observational analysis.
Hence, with the competencies and personalities that I currently possess, I do believe I could be qualified for these URECA projects and contribute significantly.
The main organizer of a 6-person team. Led discussions and the design of two business proposals each in eight hours. Incorporate written reports and visual demonstrations into complete projects.
Qualified for the second round as one of the team to represent Taiwan. Earned valuable experience to manage multiple sections of a project, while linking the teammates with the project coordinator (officials of the competition).
Wrote literature articles that discussed about several social issues of present and past Taiwanese society. All my articles were included in the published zine.
Conducted an experiment probing into the features of alpha amylase under the guidance of school instructors. Was the main data analyst of the group using excel functions and graph. Gained practical experience and built fundamentals for linear regression analysis.
Supported students in the training, solved their confusion and helped them understand the course objectives. Led group discussions that teach students how to build confidence and gain better public speaking skills. Additionally, conducted after-class phone calls every session to monitor students' conditions.
Taught a 7th grader who couldn't recognize alphabets and designed a teaching plan to guide him back on track to the schoolwork. By understanding the student's interest I developed a personal program that enhanced his reading ability from significantly below average to near the level of his age group.
