- Inspect for any structural damage, cracks, or corrosion
- Ensure the frame is stable and not compromised
- Ensure smooth operation of the reclining mechanism
- Lubricate moving parts if necessary
- Check for leaks or blockages in water lines and drains
- Ensure that all connections are secure, and filters are clean
- Water flow and pressure should be within operational parameters
- Inspect and test all latches, locks, and fasteners on storage compartments and appliances
- These should function correctly to prevent movement during turbulence or takeoff/landing
- Ensure the lavatory door closes and locks securely
- Test the door handle, lock, and occupied indicator to confirm they work properly
- Inspect the sink and faucet to ensure proper water flow and drainage
- Check for leaks and ensure water temperature regulation works as intended
- Ensure that overhead bins do not obstruct emergency equipment or exits
- In an emergency, passengers and crew must have easy access to safety gear, and bins should not block escape routes
- Test the latches and locking mechanisms to ensure they engage and release smoothly
- Bins should close and lock securely
