As a final-year student at Murdoch University, I am driven by a strong desire to assist others. My academic journey, which encompasses both psychology and criminology, reflects my keen interest in these interconnected fields. I firmly believe in the importance of a solid mental foundation, education and social support. My studies in legal education at both diploma and undergraduate levelsand psychology at the undergraduate level have provided me with a profound understanding of interventions and rehabilitation techniques for individuals requiring specialized care.
Amidst the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, I seized the opportunity to work at a vaccination center, where I made meaningful contributions to society by assisting the community. This experience allowed me to refine my interpersonal and communication skills through compassionate patient interactions, further enhancing my ability to effectively connect with and support individuals.
While at Temasek Polytechnic, I actively contributed to NurIkhwan, an independent student-based cultural group, where I served as a logistics member and later as a logistics HOD. In this role, I worked towards fostering a sense of community and belonging among Muslim students at TP by providing logistical support for student events such as the TP Musollah Clean-Up initiative and the Ramadhan Dulang Series.
In secondary school, I was appointed as class chairperson and peer support leader, roles through which I underwent specialized training to refine my skills in providing assistance and support to my peers, particularly during the challenging period of national exams. These experiences gave me valuable leadership and support abilities, enabling me to effectively guide and assist my classmates during critical times.
