Projects

Overseas Immersion Programme at University of Glasgow, Aircraft Design and Aerodynamics Project (06/2019 - 07/2019)

  • Designed an aerofoil section that has optimal aerodynamical characteristics and provides a high lift, using SolidWorks.
  • Fabrication and testing of the aerofoil was then conducted in an open loop, blow down wind tunnel in UOG.
  • Designed a feasible aircraft that met aviation requirements using conceptual designs and drawings made with SolidWorks as well as proper sizing and performance calculations. Considerations of mission requirements, airworthiness, environmental issues, commercial needs and the aircraft systems were calculated as well and finalized in the report.

Final Year Project, Biomechanical assessment of common orthopedic implants (09/2019 - 05/2020) 

  • Research project regarding the Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) surgery and the fixation device used.
  • Comparison of the fixation devices used of staples and suture anchors to determine the superior fixation device leading to improvements in the surgical procedure and faster recovery period.
  • Created a test method, designed and fabricated a test jig to allow the fixation devices to be tested on a Universal Testing Machine comparing the ultimate pull out strength.
  • Complete analysis and report of the results from the experiment were made with the final conclusions to be beneficial for the knee doctors in Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
