To the Hiring Manager, Currently, I am working as a supply chain executive in the purchasing department. I applied for this new challenge coming from vast experience in the Operations Department. The hiring manager saw the value in me which is to always look to challenge myself and as a fast learner. I managed to function well in this role despite having no prior knowledge in Supply Chain. I have learnt to manage process orders and close monitoring of open doors to ensure timely shipment of raw materials. My role also requires me to handle drop shipments to the Asia Pacific region. Apart from handling incoming raw materials, I am also tracking ISO demurrage and together with other functions, we work together to control demurrage costs. I was holding the role as an Operations Trainer in 2017 in Chevron Oronite. Prior to this post, I worked in Operations for 8 years. I was selected mainly because of my process knowledge and the ability to interact well with the different levels in the workforce. During my years in operations, I was involved in 3 turnarounds as the role of TAR coordinator. During my time as an Operations Trainer in L&D, I acquired soft skills like document management, training facilitation, managing daily tasks effectively. Being a trainer also enhanced my people skills because in most cases we are the link between the management and the folks working in the ground as we must translate management’s expectation to the workforce through effective means. I have also proven to be an independent learner and worker as we take on the challenges of the changing times through digitalization and new work processes.
