Monica Balasubramanian

From a young age, I was fascinated by the role of money in our lives. I’d save my pocket money, track my expenses, and even try to predict how much I’d have by the end of the year. I always questioned what terms like “credit” and “inflation” mean.

Fast-forward a few years, and now I’m a Year 1 student undertaking the Banking and Finance course at Nanyang Polytechnic. I’m a passionate learner and I believe in lifelong learning due to the dynamic nature of the financial industry. Currently, I’m on a journey of exploring the finance world that I have immersed myself in order to grow both personally and professionally.

Playing the violin and travelling are my favourite hobbies. These have honed my attention to detail and discipline - key traits in financial analysis. Each new place I visit or a new song that I conquer, like a financial report that needs to be built and analysed, is a puzzle waiting to be solved.
