Moe Le Phyu

I was inspired to study architecture after traveling extensively throughout Myanmar. Seeing the rural landscapes and houses in different cities ignited a strong desire within me to help these communities thrive. I want to create tight-knit communities where people from different walks of life can live and grow together. During my study at NYP Architecture, I have been working hard to develop my skills and gain valuable experience using different software tools. My focus has been on honing my knowledge of BIMM and Photoshop and using it for architecture visualization. I value effective teamwork and enjoy working with others to achieve our goals. I can also work independently. In my free time, I enjoy playing the piano and dancing. I also like to play games with my friends. All of these activities allow me to maintain a balanced and healthy lifestyle, which is essential for pursuing my academic and career goals.

STUDIO PROJECT: BIOMIMICRY

SKILLS: RHINO, PHOTOSHOP, PHYSICAL MODEL MAKING

• The project focused on Biomimicry, with the task of designing a sustainable school based on the form and structure of a chosen plant or animal. The specific inspiration here was the prop roots of the mangrove tree. I selected the prop roots of the mangrove tree as my inspiration and designed a life-skills training school based on their form and structure. Through this project, I gained a deeper understanding of Biomimicry principles and how to integrate them into architectural design. Additionally, I honed my skills in Rhino, Photoshop, and physical model making.

STUDIO PROJECT: DWELLING PROJECT

SKILLS: ARCHITECTURE VISUALISATION, PHYISCAL MODEL MAKING

• The studio project was to study an older part of Singapore, Little India, and developed a concept design for the villager. My "villager" was the "customer in a cluttered shop" and I went to design the different experiences within the shop. The concept I was going for was "hide-and-seek" within a cluttered shop, with its purpose being different for different age groups.

OTHER PROJECT: APPLE MBS BUILDING

SKILLS: REVIT

• For one of my modules in Year 2 Semester 1, I had a group project where we had to select a building in Singapore to study about its facade system. My group chose to focus on the Apple Store at Marina Bay Sands Singapore. Through this project, I utilized Revit to analyze and understand its architectural components. I deepened my understanding of facade systems and gained proficiency in using Revit for detailed architectural analysis.
