Primary Responsibility

Assists the Registered Nurse (RN) in the following:

‒ Admission, transfer and discharge of patients

‒ Patient care activities such as monitoring, documenting and reporting of patients’ conditions

and progress; escalating and notifying RN of all unusual observations or happenings

‒ Preparation of trolleys and equipment for ward-based procedures, e.g. blood culture, CVP /

PICC, intra-pleural drain, lumbar puncture etc.

‒ Perioperative care, e.g. preoperative preparation, sending and receiving patients from

operating theatres / endoscopy

 Perform basic cardiac life support

 Attends to patients’ care needs in their activities of living, such as bathing, feeding and toileting,

skin care, lifting, mobilizing and transportation.

 Practices safe care within own level of competency

 Adhere to proper use and care of equipment

 Maintains a clean and safe working environment

Secondary Responsibility

 Performs basic computer updates according to patient’s care

 Participates in continuing professional development activities to maintain competency in areas of

practice

 Participates in quality improvement activities

 Performs any other additional duties as assigned by Unit Nurse Leader

• Explain medications, side effects, and treatment plans to patients
• Issue medications to patients, and ensure proper storage and handling
• Consult with pharmacists and support their work
• Ensure proper medication audit practices
• Review prescriptions and medications for accuracy
• Build relationships with patients and ensure they comply with treatment plans
• Oversee in-pharmacy clinic events

• Family Planning - Implant (removal & insertion), IUD (removal & insertion), Depo injection, VIA test, Family planning counseling
• Main responsibility
• Assist team leader in organizing of mobile services, planning, and community orientation for mobile services
• Assist the Centre-InCharge or Mobile Team Leader in coordination and networking activities for mobile service in the community
• Supervise and coach other team members in the mobile service appropriately in their tasks
• Train other team members in infection prevention and take accountability for standard MSIP under team leader supervision
• Counseling and service provision related to family planning and health education
• Train team member and update their SRH knowledge and skill related to their jobs
• Provide health education and counseling to community and target groups
• Train program for SRH Promoters or other community group training
• Report to team leader after a field visit

• Medical ward, Surgical ward, Child ward, OG ward, Ortho ward, Emergency
• Main responsibility in generally
• Observing and recording patients’ behavior
• Coordinating with physicians and other healthcare professionals for creating and evaluating customized care plans
• In order to provide emotional and psychological support to the patients and their families, RNs create harmonious environment
• Providing instant care during medical emergencies, like car accidents, burns, heart attacks and strokes
• Keeping an eye on each and every aspect of patient care that includes physical activity plus proper diet
• Preparing rooms and decontaminating equipment’s and instruments
• Assisting doctors during surgery
• Attending educational workshops for enhancing professional and technical knowledge
• Monitoring Patients’ conditions closely
• Changing patients’ position 2 hourly
• Performing oral care and personal care
• Assisting in ventilator care with senior staff
• Administering prescribed medications
• Taking oral fluids and meals to patient
• Taking blood sample for investigations
• According to physicians’ prescription
• Give injections and drips
• Administer oral medication
• Measuring blood glucose level
• Taking insulin injection and oral drugs for diabetes patients
• Taking Ryle’s tube insertion and catheterizations
