  • In specific, I oversee network, contact center infrastructure, CRM and billing infrastructure, enterprise data warehouse (EDW), on premise server farm (VMware), public cloud (AWS, Azure and Cloud Flare), SaaS and PaaS (O365, SharePoint, Skype for Business and Workday).
  • Some of the key deliverables under this position are:-
  • 1) Prepare and present roadmap for infrastructure for the next 3 to 5 years.
  • 2) Justify budget requirement for infrastructure and include cost optimization projects.
  • 3) Prepare and present business case to key management team consists of CXOs.
  • 4) Design and deliver infrastructure related projects.
  • 5) Manage infrastructure operation team for both on premise and cloud.
  • Some of my major achievements in Astro are: -
  • 1) Successfully implemented Software Defined Datacenter in all 3 Datacenters which runs of VMware and Cisco ACI (Application Centric Infrastructure).
  • 2) Migrated from Avaya Contact Center and Aspect to consolidated Genesys Contact Center solution.
  • 3) Migrated 90% of the workload from the 3 Datacenters to AWS in 3 years' time.
  • 4) Migrated all sites from legacy MPLS to SD WAN (Cisco) and zSCaler with which gives 200% cost saving to the company with great user experience.

  • I was reporting directly to the Director of Client Director, AMEA.
  • Me and my team worked closely with the business development team, service request team and account start-up team to close the RFPs from design and technical perspective.
  • I was responsible to execute some major accounts projects.
  • I worked closely account manager to increase the sales revenue by providing solution for complex solution and perform delivery.
  • I have been very hands in providing design and perform implementation for pilot sites.
  • I am also technical design authority who review and approve high level and low level design documents prepared by team members before we present to clients.
  • Some of the big accounts which I have worked on :-
  • 1) British American Tabaco - covering both APAC and Europe.
  • 2) Revamped the overall Sime Darby datacenter landscape from 'legacy' flat network to 3 tier network architecture.

  • I have successfully delivered the transformation for DHL covering Asia Pacific.
  • I worked closely with the team in SG to finalize the design, communicate back to back with in-country clients on their requirement and to come out with the solution working closely with in-country local service providers.
  • I am also responsible to help to help the SEA account team from technical perspective on any presales task in Malaysia.
  • Some of my major deliverables as Lead Technical Design were as below :-
  • 1) I was one of the 5 technical design authority for DHL.
  • 2) Volkswagen - I did the design for Volkswagen-Hicom datacenter which is located in Pekan, Pahang.
  • 3) Designed and implemented Cisco Telepresence (TX 9000 series) for Seagate for three sites (Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia).
  • 4) Proposed and Implemented LAN revamp design for Estee Lauder Malaysia.

Accomplishments


  • In sources the managed service for whole bank infrastructure operation in 2021 which gives cost saving approximately RM 60M per year.
  • Build and Run the 3rd DataCenter for the bank in 2024 which runs ~ 3000 compute for the bank's applications
  • Design and Build SDDC (Software Defined Data Center) between 3 main DCs to establish active-active applications access across 3 mains DCs
  • Modernize the mobile applications in 2022 from monolithic to microservices, which allow auto-scaling for the compute
  • Modernization of core banking application from legacy Mainframe and AS400 to Microservices running on OpenShift Container. This gives us cost saving around RM 40M per annum from the IBM S&M
