I am a community builder and has a passion for community development. I play a pivotal role in developing and implementing programmes and initiatives that promote family life and social cohesion. I leverage my expertise in family life and community engagement to design and execute impactful programmes that address the evolving needs of families in Singapore. As a leader, i foster a collaborative and supportive work environment, encourage open communication and teamwork among my team members.

Work History

Assistant Director (Active Ageing & Family Life)

  • Key driver of the family life programmes in the team. Leverage data to led the team of 5 to do forward planning to develop workplan in alignment with PA's directions on a yearly basis, with clear targets and objectives.
  • Worked closely with 87 Family Life Champions to implement family programmes, as well as provide resources and expertise to support their local initiatives.
  • Led the team of 5 to develop and curate family-centric programmes such as the inaugural PA Family PLAYGround, as well as plug and play programmes such as Family Fun, Family Time, Let's Learn and Let's Grow School Holiday programmes to support PA's outreach to the harder-to-reach group of young families.
  • Overall in-charge for the nation-wide programme, Embracing PArenthood Movement Celebrations, targeting at parents with newborn. Organised close to 450 celebrations with the Community Clubs and Family Life Champions (FLCs) from 2017 to 2019.
  • Developed strong relationships with about 70 community partners and leverage their expertise to co-develop programmes for families, as well as gather ground sensing for better policies implementation. Programmes include "I Still Do", National Family Week, Families for Life @ Community, Family Plan Dialogues, Healthy Breastfed Babies etc
  • Guided the team handling social media and publicity for family programmes.
  • Oversaw the Active Ageing Council, comprise of 30 volunteers to develop programmes and resources targeting the the seniors and super-aged society. In-charge of the Council's annual workplan development.
  • Created knowledge manual on PA workplan, to provide strategic directions, consistency and guide all PA divisions in developing their annual workplan.
  • Link between Licensed Solemnisers and Registry of Marriages (ROM).
  • In-charge of the Prime Minister Photo-taking team for Chinese New Year Garden Party and ensure all guests had a good experience at the event, hosted by Prime Minister.
  • Managed the budget for Family Life and Active Ageing Council to ensure utilisation was on track.
  • Led the team to pivot programmes from physical to virtual during Covid period.

  • In-charge of planning and organising family-centric events which include flagship programmes such as Baby Singapore, Let PAssion Take Flight, Family Life Champion Award.
  • Was the media liaison for all flagship programmes.

  • Managed the section's budget to ensure utilisation was on track.
  • Organised regular sharing sessions with the FLCs to share best practices.

  • Acted as a catalyst to encourage and assist the GROs to plan and implement community projects.

  • Mobilised residents to participate in national campaigns and projects, including those organised by PA, CDC, GROs in the GRC and Division and the CC to facilitate their mass participation.
  • Co-ordinated the recruitment, appointment and reappointment of members of the GROs to ensure a high level of involvement and minority group participation.
