My interest in medicine stems from a foundational passion for the chemical and biological sciences, borne from innate worldly curiosities and further kindled by esteemed educators with an infectious enthusiasm for the sciences. While these sciences collide in many different career paths, I feel medicine is the one most suited for me, as medicine offers these sciences an applied practical context, for an altruistic cause.
Particularly, in the field of Respiratory and Critical Care medicine, seeing real-time decisions that could affect life and death would give me an understanding into what high-stakes medicine looks like and a greater grasp on medical ethics.
As a 3rd Sergeant in the 42nd Singapore Armour Regiment, my time in service was filled with colourful experiences that painted a demanding but fulfilling role. I was able to hone my leadership and communication skills, improving my multitasking and resourcefulness as I juggled multiple responsibilities.
As a Research Analyst in Twimbit, I conducted comprehensive market research and analysed qualitative and quantitative data to identify trends and provide actionable insights. The experience taught me the foundations for collaboration and communication in cross-functional teams, as well as lessons in multitasking and time management.
