  • Joined Disney as a senior financial analyst supporting the Senior Finance Manager in FP&A of the Disney Media Distribution business (P&L size: US$36M) in Southeast Asia primarily in providing an accurate forecast of the business every quarter as well as detailed variance analysis of the quarterly and yearly performances by country, LOB, products and titles
  • Also involved in providing deal analysis and support to the Sales Directors and Managers by running financial models and sensitivity analysis during negotiations with clients as well as reviewing contracts relating to financial and commercial terms to highlight risk areas and provide recommendations
  • Promoted to Assistant Finance Manager and transferred to the Consumer Products Division reporting to the Regional Finance Director and handed a portfolio of roles to take on as the finance lead for 4 major business units within the Consumer Products Division: Singapore Market (P&L size : US$10M) – mature market, Vietnam Market (P&L size : US$3M) – new market, ASEAN publishing business (P&L size : US$4M), ASEAN Soft-lines business (P&L size : US$25M)
  • Primary day-to-day job was to business partner with the respective Country/Business directors to provide financial guidance and value-adding insights and analysis to drive operational excellence as well as profitability
  • Another key aspect is in supporting the Business heads and Regional FP&A team to deliver the yearly Budget and 5 Year Plan as well as ensuring forecasting and closing processes are effectively and efficiently managed

  • Reporting to the Global Performance Manager in a team of 3, main responsibilities center around providing useful dashboards, management reports and variance analysis of the monthly performance of the Supply Chain and R&T functions vs budget and forecasts
  • Month end and quarter end tasks involve running reports from the management information system OBIEE (Oracle Business Intelligence) and SAP to extract the GL accounts relating to supply chain (I.e warehousing costs, logistics costs, inventory write-offs, inventory valuation) by SKUs and by markets to prepare variance analysis of products and market performance vs budget and forecast i.e which products have highest write-off due to slow sales, which markets have highest warehousing and logistics costs
  • Provide support to Global Performance director in providing analysis and information to the VP of Supply Chain and R&T to support decision-making

  • I was able to optimize the warehousing costs which was running at US$7mil per annum by up to 30% per annum through rationalizing the warehousing contracts across the 20 production sites and 50 warehouses in APAC, Europe and the Americas
