Summary

I am an educator and lifelong learner who enjoys the challenge and excitement of doing new and different things in life to learn and grow. I have vast cross-cultural experience working with young children, youths and adults in Singapore, Thailand, Myanmar and China in the field of education and community development.

My passion is working alongside the weak, the young, the poor, the special needs and disadvantaged in society as I admire their quiet strength, resilience and generosity of spirit. My desire is to use my talents and skills to benefit organizations working for education and social development.

With a degree in accountancy, I am able to manage the financial aspects of programs and ensure their sustainability.

In 2011, I took a break of 9 years to care for my children and aging parents. In 2020, I returned to the education sector as the changes towards a more accepting culture, especially in recognizing differing strengths, aptitude and interests in children and youths over academic performance aligns with my personal philosophy of education. I am glad to be able to work again with a new generation of youths and children; and see them grow into young adults full of promise, passion, compassion, respect and resilience.

In April 2024, I completed a one year Diploma in Care and Programme (Student Services & Coaching) course to challenge myself and also to lengthen the runway of my professional journey.

In 2024, I decided to focus on growing my strength in managing the administrative aspect of a school as a senior executive. I gained much from being able to support the principal and program team of a school that strives to provide the best for its children.

Additional Information

I am a Christian and a mother of two young ladies, one in Nursing and and another in Medical School.

My background is in both education and finance. I have many years of experience managing both the financial/administrative functions as well as programmes of pre-schools, student care centres and non-profit organisations. In the past, my focus has been on programme development and leadership but recently, I have decided to play a supportive role with my administrative skills. I believe my experience will put me in a unique position to work with the administrative team to effectively support the programme arm of an organisation in enhancing its effectiveness and enabling it to fulfil its mission and goals.

It is important that my work creates meaning and hope for those I serve, whether it is working with colleagues, students or families. Hence, I actively seek to problem-solve at work, providing the best service to meet the needs of families, and going beyond whenever necessary.

If my experience and desire to serve align with your organisation's needs and the requirements for the role you are seeking to fill, I would be most grateful if you could grant me the possibility of an interview so that I can share how my skills can support the important work of your stakeholders and partners.

I am happy to work in any capacity where I can put my skills and desire to do my small part to create a better world to good use. I am also open to training in counselling or social work or elder care in order to equip myself better for my future role. In fact, I completed a one year Diploma in Care and Programme (Student Services) with Ngee Ann Polytechnic in 2023/2024 and enjoyed learning new skills and knowledge to equip myself for today's workplace.

Thank you for considering my application and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
