- Provide leadership, mentoring, coaching and guidance to Senior Centre Managers/Centre Managers/Assistant Centre Managers (SCMs/CMs/ACMs).
- Participate in centre management to get a better understanding of centre operations.
- Work closely with the SCMs/CMs/ACMs to ensure the smooth running of the day-to-day clinical nursing operations.
- Provide facilitation in the manpower planning and deployment based on exigencies of services.
- Facilitate and guide SCMs/CMs/ACMs for preparation for MOH Licensing and Inspection in accordance with the ENHS and HCSA requirements.
- Evaluate nursing practices and client care and/or service excellence with reference to structure, process and outcome frameworks.
- Build inter-professional collaboration among nursing, medical, and allied health professionals and participate during the inter-disciplinary team meetings.
- Work collaboratively with the SCMs/CMs/ACMs to promote a culture that focuses on person-directed care.
- Work closely with quality team to develop and implement strategies to improve quality outcomes and evidence-based care.
- Participate in the review of the ENHS SOPs every 2 years or as and when there is any change in some processes or workflows that need the SOPs to be reviewed and aligned.
- Participate in the development and implementation of a person-centred care (PCC) delivery model.
- Support cultivating organisational culture and aligning strategies, goals and framework to enable the delivery of PCC.
- Support and monitor the delivery of the nursing care model, processes and practices.
- Oversee the quality assurance committee and provide guidance to the team
- Collaborate with external stakeholders such as Agency for integrated Care (AIC) to leverage on the collaborative quality initiatives and quality improvements projects.
- Participate in the Basic Quality Interest Group with AIC so as to learn from other nursing homes and bench mark those best practices.
- Work closely with external stakeholders, such as AIC to identify, plan and lead job redesign initiatives for all care staff when being called upon.
- Plan, implement, evaluate and provide feedback on the effectiveness of job redesign initiatives for the different categories of staff.
- Cultivate and promote a culture of a competent workforce so as to ensure staff can provide safe and quality care to the residents.
- Participate in training needs analysis to identify competencies gaps.
- Work closely with the senior nurse educator to develop a palatable training plan and roadmap to close those gaps.
- Work with the Learning and Development (L&D) personnel to identity relevant external courses if not available in-house.
- Facilitate the SCMs/CMs/ACMs to strengthen the Mini Training Team and review their respective centres training plan.
- Encourage SCMs/CMs to engage sponsors and provide them updates of their loved ones.
- Managed all feedback from sponsors in a cordial and professional manner.
- Arrange for family conference as and when the need arise.
- Leverage on the outreach programmes from restructured hospitals to strengthen our nurses’ capabilities to manage complex residents, e.g End of Life Care, Palliative Care, ACP/PPC and IDT meetings.
- Promote and leverage on their training programme so as to better equip our nurses with adequate knowledge and skills to manage a diversified group of residents such as those with dementia, end of life, etc.
- Create opportunity to work with volunteers so that they can provide volunteer services and engagement with our residents.
- Promote intergenerational collaboration with childcare centres to enable residents to feel the presence of children wherever possible.
- Implement systems and processes to ensure compliance with MOH and regulatory standards.
- Responsible for obtaining and successful renewal of licenses for all care services
- Lead, develop and implement infection control policies and practices in collaboration with infection control nurse to ensure fit for purpose and initiate change where appropriate.
- Oversee risk management strategies, including identification, monitoring and evaluation of nursing-sensitive quality and safety indicators.
- Provide leadership, develop and manage emergency response and crisis management plans in accordance with organisational direction including collaboration with relevant departments and stakeholder.
