  • As Chinese language tutor for P1 ~ P6 students, my roles are coach students who need academic support in Chinese subject, conduct enrichment programmes during after school and design programme materials, motivate students to love learning and build good character and values in them
  • As the lead teacher in Chinese tuition division, I reckon that the current teaching material had been used for many years and might not be as effective for our students nowadays
  • With the support from higher management, I have initiated the reforms of our teaching material, seeking inputs from our senior advisors, to establish the refreshed “scheme of work”, adopting digital teaching and games in classes such as eChinese (易-华文), Wordwall, Kahoot, puzzle, etc
  • With this, I co-organized the training session to brief our part-time tutors on our updated teaching material, our new vision and to demonstrate the new way of teaching
  • This new way of teaching has been implemented since early this early and it has been proven to be effective – Students are more attentive, responsive, and cooperative in Chinese classes, and easier to memorize thru some images or gesture.

  • As private Chinese language tutor for a student studying in Raffles Institution, mainly to guide him to prepare for his higher Chinese examination in O' levels
  • The student was raised in English background and lacked of Chinese language environment at home, therefore, his parents made a special arrangement to involve me in their living, to blend in some Chinese elements in their family
  • With the joint efforts, the student has improved significantly and eventually scored A2 in higher Chinese
  • Meanwhile, I am also assisting on medical translation works in the clinics run by the parents of my student
  • Most of the patients in the clinic came from all over the world and some required to communicate in Mandarin, therefore, I am assisting on translation, explanation, recordings, etc.

  • Seri Omega Private & International School didn’t adopt official Chinese text book, therefore, I had to hands-on prepare all the worksheets, lessons, teaching material, slides, as well as background studies
  • In addition to conventional teaching, I would love to teach my students about Chinese culture, morality, as well as wisdom from the years of Chinese culture: Confucianism that relate to my teaching material, as I strongly believe that the true education is not only to infuse knowledge but also to shape someone with morality and ideology, to be a better person.
