  • Care Cost Form are properly counselled to patients in a clear, concise and easy to understand manner. Answer to any questions they may have, and address concerns about costs and insurance coverage.
  • Verify patient's insurance coverage and explain what they are covered. Ensure that they understand any claim limits, deductibles, or co-insurance they may be responsible for and the potential out-of-pocket expenses.
  • Identify financial hardship cases, appropriate referral to Medical Social Worker for financial assistance where applicable.
  • Advised patients on their outstanding bills, if any. Clearly outline the different payment options available such as cash, credit card or financial assistance.
  • Document all counselling sessions and interactions with patients regarding care cost form to ensure that there is record of information provided and patient's understanding of it.
  • Follow up with patients on submission of financial documents, ensure they are accurately completed.
  • Regularly verify patient's bill, ensure deposit made by patients or their insurance, Medisave, 3rd party payer is sufficient to cover. Coordinating with insurance companies or 3rd party payer, through phone calls and emails if required.
  • Address to enquiries promptly and professionally through walk-ins, phone calls and emails.
  • Assist with other ad-hoc duties, participate in projects or discussion related to financial counselling.
