Marine Assurance & Compliance
Currently overseeing a diverse fleet of pressurized, semi-pressurized, and ethylene gas carriers, ensuring regulatory compliance, operational safety, and continuous improvement across all vessels.
- Prepare vessels for Port State Control (PSC) inspections, including port-specific requirements and current Concentrated Inspection Campaigns (CICs)
- Review regular updates from vessels and provide real-time assistance during PSC inspections
- Develop and implement corrective and preventive action (CaPA) plans post-PSC; share learnings fleet-wide to ensure compliance and continuous improvement
- Coordinate and support vessels through external ISM, ISPS, and MLC audits, including post-audit corrective actions
Audits & Inspections
- Conduct dynamic and static navigational audits, including unannounced third-party VDR and bridge team performance assessments
- Carry out comprehensive shipboard visits and inspections, issuing observation/NC reports and tracking timely closures
- Attend vessels during pre-docking, dry-docking, and post-docking phases to oversee the rectification and servicing of safety-critical systems
Cargo Operations & Safety
- Oversee and assess safe cargo operations including loading, discharging, inerting, purging, gassing up, and cargo changeovers across a range of cargoes (e.g. propane, butane, ethylene, butadiene, propylene, VCM)
- Conduct dynamic cargo audits to verify compliance with company procedures and international standards
- Investigate incidents related to navigation, cargo operations, security breaches, crew injuries, and interpersonal conflicts
Reporting & Documentation
- Close and manage reports in company ERP, including Near Misses, Safety Meetings, Internal Audits, Drills, Bridge Audits, etc.
- Coordinate closely with third-party vendors including P&I Clubs, chart agents, and shipboard communication service providers
TMSA & Risk Management
- Actively contribute to TMSA implementation, with a focus on Element 5 (Navigation) and Element 9 (Risk Assessment)
- Participate in risk evaluations and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational safety and efficiency
Security Management
- Prepare and monitor vessels transiting through High Risk Areas (HRA), including SSAS testing, onboard security protocols, and security guard deployment
Projects & Initiatives
- Led the development and implementation of an in-house Ship Handling Regime for Masters, based on incident trends and feedback from senior officers
- Successfully rolled out Digimoor fleetwide—an online platform for real-time monitoring of mooring ropes and equipment condition
Vetting & CDI Inspections
- Prepare vessels for OCIMF vetting inspections including PIQ preparation, document reviews, and guidance on compliance
- Support ships with preparatory emails, checklist reviews (e.g. passage plan, cargo plan, enclosed space entry, overdue PMS), and documentation
- Maintain and update HVPQ6, Q88, and crew matrix; coordinate submission and feedback
- Assist vessels during inspections, providing real-time advice for non-conformity rectification
- Draft detailed and forward-looking CaPA post-inspection to address observations
- Similarly support vessels during CDI inspections, from SID preparation to final CaPA closure.
