I am a qualified engineer with over 22 years of extensive experience in installation, commissioning, maintenance and engineering, FAT & SAT, EX inspection, and operational support of Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, and Telecom systems. My experience spans across wind farm substations (66kV/230kV), offshore jack-up rigs, semi-submersible rigs, drill ships, FPSOs, FSOs, offshore accommodation platforms, and both drilling, production platforms and various construction building maintenance. • Construction experience and Maintenance experiences:
• Installation, acceptance, and integration test of High voltage components like medium voltage /High voltage GIS switchgear, shunt reactors, Earthing auxiliary transformers, Neutral earthing resistor and grid transformers up to 230KV. (HITACHI products from various countries)
• Installation, acceptance, and integration test of HV/LV distribution systems up to 230KV, Installation, acceptance, and integration test of AC/DC UPS systems
• Inspection of fiber optic cable termination and validate the test result. Inspection of HV/MV cable pulling, termination and testing of High Voltage Cables up to 230KV.Coordinate commissioning activities with main suppliers and sub-contractors.
• Coordinate project commissioning activities. Secure quality of commissioning works and documentation. Report commissioning progress/participate in commissioning meetings.
• Ensure that quality is within the agreed standard during construction. Ensure all commissioning is completed in due time and to agreed standard.
• Construction, Installation, Inspection and commissioning activities as per ATEX directives, NORSOK E001.I001 and T-001,010, IEEE, IEC & Detnorske standards.
• Ensuring compliance with IEC 60079-14/IEC 60019-17, 60019-17 60019-17 60019-17 and Client Specification, ensure that Company HSE&Q policies and procedures adhered to in all phases of the work. Participate in HSE related activities - Tool Box Meetings, Site HSE walks / inspections.
• General HSE follow-up and monitoring Participate in review and approval of Risk Assessments / Construction Method Statement submittals. Participate in inspections of installed electrical controls & instrumentation. Verify that instrumentation, wiring, & other components are properly marked for identification.
• Monitor and verify all EIT construction installation, cable termination activities, from any potential works out to field installation, and ensure all activities are timely executed in accordance with the appropriate procedures, specifications and standards
• Ensure the Installation of All kind of Switchboards, control panels, Transformers, IS limiters and DBs etc… (110KV GIS switchgears, 11KV switchboards,690V MCC, Lighting and small power DB, NERs and UPS control panels- ABB, SIEMENS, TERASAKI and SCHNEIDER-ELECTRIC switchboards)
• Monitor the performance of the Contractor’s electrical/instrumentation inspectors. Monitor/witness the installation, testing and hook-up of various types of electrical, instrumentation and telecoms equipment such as: Brackets and ladder/tray support system, Cable trays/ladders, Cable routing/dressing, Junction boxes, MCC switchgear, Tubing, Controls, Valves, Telecoms
• Participate in the Mechanical Completion of HV/LV cable termination and equipment installation inspections, incl. Area- and Discipline Acceptance Inspection Participate in the punch list clearance process Produce a Daily Surveillance Report to summarize all tasks undertaken each day and the status of any work found to be unsatisfactory. Provide feedback to the site team to avoid/resolve quality problems. Attend and contribute to site and project technical meetings as necessary.
• Construction specification review, making technical specifications for electrical and instrument equipment (pressure and temperature sensors. Alarm and Monitoring systems, light signal column, fire detection and general emergency system, emergency shutdown system, etc.), vendor design evaluation and recommendation to ship-owner, vendor drawing review and approval, actual design drawing and evaluation, and production support, and goes thru until the vessel’s trial on sea and shore to its delivery, which included after-sales service (for design related items).
• Frequent on-board inspection after design stage, especially during the vessel’s construction, providing support to yard for equipment installation and surveying for design improvements
• Answers to all Class and Owner’s approval, construction, and pre-delivery (after sea trial) comments. Facilitate the completion and execution of these comments (thru communicating with the owner, class, vendor, and related team in the yard).
• In order to guarantee the greatest levels of uptime, efficiency, and safety, hands-on operations and maintenance comprise all administrative and physical operations duties, service, and maintenance in compliance with site processes and procedures.
• Examine buildings, equipment, safety routes, and grounds on a regular basis to look for any unusual situations or flaws. Diagnose, assess, and suggest system upgrades, Purchase materials and parts for upkeep and repairs.
• Collaborate with contractors and vendors to guarantee that the work complies with the established standards, procedures, and processes. Report problems to facility management in a timely and suitable manner. Help in scheduling and managing suppliers and subcontractors for the upkeep and servicing of systems and equipment. Make suggestions for enhancing the operations and maintenance program on a continuous and hazardous basis.
• Operated and maintained mission-critical electrical and cooling infrastructure ensuring 24×7 uptime.
• Managed UPS, DG sets, battery systems, and redundant power paths (N+1 / 2N).
• Maintained CRAC/CRAH units, chillers, and chilled water systems with redundant pumps.
• Monitored systems through BMS/DCIM and responded to critical alarms.
• Executed preventive maintenance using approved MOPs without service interruption. Performed functional testing of fire detection and suppression systems.
• Ensured compliance with PTW, LOTO, and safety procedures. Coordinated maintenance activities with vendors while maintaining live operations.
• QA/QC experiences:
• Implementation of quality plan for this project, which include inspection, testing and proper documentation and ensure that all works complied with client/contractor issued (IFC) drawing, applicable standards, and specification. NORSOK STANDARD E-001, COPENS STANDARD, NEC, IEC, IEEE, etc
• Implementing coverage of proper installation, wiring and cable laying, cladding, termination, witnessing of insulation resistance test and HIPOT test. (TCD-NORSOK)
• Ensure that all related inspection and testing activities about Environment, Health & Safety procedures and maintenance rules respected, monitor the performance of construction to ensure the respect of work standards and project specifications.
• Perform proactive surveillance inspection to minimize or avoid discrepancy and non-conformance rectification cost and time.
• Coordinate and assist construction to resolve any encountered problems related to inspection and testing activities to meet schedule and avoid any delay of activities. Initiate remedial or corrective action based on standard, code, and specification and verify the closure of NCR.
• Inspect and witness the testing works as per their approved Inspection Test Plan.
• Ensure that all testing activities are properly documented and reported. Liaise the relevant coordination with the client related to inspection, testing activities and documentation.
• Ensure the implementation of Contractual Inspection and Tests. Prepare internal punch list and coordinate with the construction prior for inspection. Coordinate with the client for punch list closure and final acceptance.
• Witness and liaise with vendor/contractor for any related electrical equipment testing activities. Maintain all Quality Control Report.
• Issue Punch list and NCR to vendor / subcontractor for E&I related issues according to project specs.
• Prepare Ex Register for Hazardous Area Equipment as per project Ex Action Plan Prepare Work pack as per Project Ex Register Monitoring Onboard Ex Electrical & instrumentation activity Provide Ex installation surveillance during installation of Ex equipment.
• Inspect the Electrical, Instrumentation and Telecom Equipment for FPSO modules and marine system Hazardous area as per IEC 60079-14 &17 Provide technical input into projects for Electrical, Instrument and Telecom Discipline Handle quality issue at site according to project specification, drawings, and compliance certification requirements.
• Responsible of E&I installation & inspection activities on the Site. Supervise the quality control function on site. Inspect Electrical & Instrumental Work carried out by the yard. Monitoring, review and inspection of all major activities and progress of the E&I construction works.
• Interface with engineering, planning and procurement as well as other disciplines.
• Inspection of Electrical Equipment’s Installation for Atmospheric Explosion Proof for hazarders areas Inspection, Cable Termination and Mechanical Completion as per the ATEX Standard.
• Ex survey all drilling hazardous equipment’s, Inspection and Auditing of hazardous equipment, daily reports to Ensco Co-ordinator, conducted remedial work on faulty equipment correlate existing Hazardous Register with Audit equipment.

• Responsibilities Certified Equipment (EX) Check & Verify data display on the equipment As Manufacturer, Type, Serial no, Ex Rating, Gas Group, Temperature Class, Certificate No, Certifying Authority & Hazardous Area Classification.
• Filling up Ex-ITR- (Inspection Test Record) Identify the Equipment Condition & Quality As- Electrical Motor, Local Control Switch, Heater, Lighting, IP Hawke Cable Glands & IP Sealing Washer.
• Instrument Pressure Transmitter, Temperature Transmitter, Level, Flow Transmitter, Indicator, Transmitter, Diffuser Pressure Transmitter, Solenoid Valve, Control Valve. Positional Controller. Flow Switch, Pressure Switch, Temperature Switch, Position Switch. Gas Detector, Flame Detector.
• Commissioning experience:
• Commissioning and testing of all electrical equipments. Technical review of all drawings and vendors, package's documentation. Ensure that the commissioning activities are following the project HSE rules and local legislation.
• Coordinate with the electrical installation & commissioning activities, performed by suppliers’ contractors and stakeholders. Participate in witnessing of FAT.
• Coordinate and participate in witnessing of SAT and SIT test.
• Mechanical completion of all systems on shore and on-site tests and installation Supervision of Electrical and Instrument loops.
• Perform Factory acceptance test of up to 230KV GIS Switchgears, Grid transformers 360 MVA , Shunt reactors 50,70 and 80 MVar , Earthing Aux transformers, 66KV MV switchgears, LV Distribution Panel, Lighting Distribution Panel, Low Voltage motors, Low Voltage Cable, AC & DC Distribution Panel.
• Third Party Mod-bus RTU, PROFIBUS DP & Ethernet communication between Protection relays and DCS
• Function checkup and powering up for THRUSTER transformers and HV switchboards (TRASFOR 11000v/22000V step down transformer). Carry out the pre-commissioning and inspection for variable frequency drive on mud top drive, draw works, cement pump motors. All the drilling drives carry out the dust decontamination and function checking at field side
• Aided Switchgear and vendors on Instrumentation wiring modifications of control circuits for High Voltage 6.6KV, Low Voltage 440V switchboards including function test. (Siemens switchboards)
• Carry out the checks as required by the Inspection Test Record (ITR-A and B) Carry out “As–Built” Drawing on Layout Drawings and Single Line Drawings
• Ensure strict implementation of Permit to Work (PTW) System that remains in force throughout onshore Mechanical Completion.
• Carry out all Electrical Commissioning works on all electrical equipment such as MV/LV Switchgear, Emergency diesel generator, SKAM Turbine Generators, Gas turbine generators, Compression Gas Turbines, Water Injection, UPS System, Battery Bank and Battery Charger, Navigational Aids System, Lighting System and Small Power Distribution Boards.
• Carry out Pre-Commissioning activities such as loop check. Insulation testing of all various power cables and control cables for UPS System, Battery Bank and Battery Charger System, from Unit Control Panel to field Wirings of Emergency Diesel Generator, from TCP to field wirings of Gas Turbine Generators Compression Gas Turbines and Water Injection, MV/HV Switchgear, Lighting System, Navigational Aids System and Distribution Boards for Small Power Equipment’s.
• Performs Pre-Commissioning test such as Insulation Test and Resistance Test in all Electrical Motors.
• Assist and energize of the medium voltage and low voltage panel, MV transformer and dry-type LV distribution transformers. SUCH AS ABB, SIEMENS, TERASAKI and SCHNEIDER-ELECTRIC switchboards.
• Start up and commissioning of all Instrument and control packages. Supervision and assistance of engineering service contractors, and specialized contractors. Technical assistance to construction manager, maintain of required safety standards. Consolidate instrument pre commissioning and commissioning progress. Punch list review and coordination with planning and commissioning.
• Engineering/Design
• Review and approve vendor drawing as per project specification and, Engineering support at site attend field instrument & control inspection, FAT at vendor’s workshop and SAT On-site supervision on erection of field instruments.
• Engineering support to Technical quires, site design modification and technical deviation
• Ensure sub-contractor are using the valid revision index of technical document
• Ensure proper implementation of control narratives, logic diagram, manage Index database for I/O and carryout I/O assignment
• Review Fire and gas layout for the marine side with assistance of Technical safety as per DNV gas dispersion study
• Reviewed and commenting P&ID’s, Block Diagram (ESD, PSD, VCS, and F&G), Layouts and Interface drawings etc.
• Involved in Technical clarification meeting with vendors and evaluate the package supplied Instruments with specification
• Review Fire and Gas layout as per class society requirements and developed the Loop diagram
• Closed the DNV comment with proper design for the respective deliverables
• 3-D model review 30%,60% and 90% of design completion.
• Allocate the Inspection Test Record for all systems, Subsystems Instruments

• Perform load calculations, design electrical circuits and plan power distribution systems that meet the project’s requirement and adhere to safety standards
• Prepare detailed electrical schematics, circuit diagrams, and wiring layouts to be used in project documentation and execution
• Proficiency in the Code of Practice for Electrical Installations and ensure compliance to Electrical Wiring Regulations (EWR) and relevant international standards
• Liaise and collaborate with project teams, internal and external stakeholders to integrate electrical solution into overall systems designs
• Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure that electrical installations are being carried out according to plans, designs and safety standards
• Assist in preparing cost estimates and budgets for electrical work in construction projects
