• Manage emergency care for patients in critical conditions, including trauma, stroke and cardiac arrest amongst many other critically ill diagnosis
• Able to think critically and make independent fast decisions in emergency situations
• Work well in a multidisciplinary team to manage patients - working with surgical, orthopedics, anesthetist and neurosurgical team for trauma cases, working with the neuro-stroke team for stroke cases, cardiology for complex cardiac cases, etc.
• Able to manage critically ill patients awaiting intensive care unit beds - able to independently manage patient's who are intubated on mechanical ventilation, on central venous catheter running multiple inotropic medications, on intra-arterial line monitoring, etc - ensures continuation of patient's care despite long waiting time for ICU beds
• Provide high quality care in a high-volume emergency department that is currently lodging both inpatient and emergency patients (current average Emergency Department attendances is 375patients/day with 90% Bed-Occupancy Rate)
• Able to manage palliative care for patients in the emergency department
• Comfortable to transport critically-ill patients
• Confident to assist in complex out-of-hospital cases alongside members of Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) - prolonged extrication case out of hospital in September 2025
• Able to assist in Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) cases
• Able to clearly communicate patient's treatment plan with both patient and relatives
• Able to perform triage
• Able to safely and accurately administer medications during emergency situations
• Able to handle stressful situations and communicate clearly with others to manage patient
