Primary role

• Assist independently in any multidisciplinary surgeries.
• Provide direct support to surgical team during procedures.
• Provide emergency response to crash, trauma and life threatening surgeries.
• Accurately documents treatment, medications and IVs administered, discharge instructions and follow-up care.
• Deliver independently patient care for post-sedation, post general anesthesia, post regional anesthesia, and local anesthesia patients in Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).
• Competent to assist in moderate sedation, general anesthesia, regional anesthesia, and local anesthesia.
• Report findings to quality departments after conducting routine restraint audits and worked with team to devise corrective actions for deficiencies.

Secondary role

• Expand role of peri-anesthesia nurse for moderate or deep sedation cases, assist competently in general and regional anesthesia, as well as local anesthesia cases.
• Manage in purchasing, ordering from Material Management Department (MMD) for stocks, communicating with finance department for purchased orders and payment.
• Handles competently in emergency situations and surgeries.
• Completed physical inventory counts monthly, mid-year and year-end.
• Participate as permanent committee member in Laser Safety committee in IHH, Singapore Operation Division to discuss policies, propose revisions and implement changes.

Management role

• Coordinate with various parties such as Vendors and Biomedical Engineering department, Business office, wards, reception area and PACU.
• Facilitate for team communications and information for department meetings who work closely with operational team members to resolve minor and/or major problems
• Coordinate surgical scheduling as RN In-charge nurse and communicate with external product specialists, surgeons, anesthetists, and staff.
• Negotiate in compromising and coordinating of conflict management in OT complex either internal customers – staffs, or external customers – surgeons, anesthetists, assistants, and vendors.
• Provide trainings new hired nurses in proper techniques, care standards, operational procedures and safety protocols.
