Research Assistant

National University of Singapore
03.2024 - 02.2025
  • Involved in plasmid cloning, preparation of competent bacterial and mammalian cells, quality check and downstream applications of various plasmids
  • Utilized cell culture techniques to help the post-doctoral researchers in carrying out their experiments on cell infection
  • Immunization of BALB/c mice with viral proteins and evaluating the antibody production by conducting western blots
  • Periodic collection of serum from mice for immunofluorescence assay
  • Regular processing of clinical samples (swabs and blood) for the study and storing them for further use
  • Isolation of PBMCs and separation of plasma and serum from human blood samples
  • Managing the regular lab supplies and communicating with vendors to procure consumables, maintaining documentations for safety audits for regular functioning of the lab

Research Assistant

National University of Singapore
04.2023 - 02.2024
  • Involved in plasmid vector construction, preparation of competent bacterial cells, bacterial culturing, plasmid and minicircle isolation from the parent cells, quality check and downstream applications of the plasmids
  • Utilized cell culture techniques to carry out various assays including FACS, q-RT-PCR, Western Blot, ELISA assays and tissue staining to determine the therapeutic effect of the extracellular vesicles on our target diseases
  • Extensively worked on C57BL6 mice to establish an orthotopic bladder cancer model and a subcutaneous tumor model and to treat the tumour using EVs loaded with plasmids
  • Prepared and presented the work in progress to supervising professor and colleagues on a bimonthly basis
  • Managing the regular supplies and organizing the daily functioning of the lab

Research Assistant

National University of Singapore
