As Senior Editor with Channel NewsAsia, I contributed towards the newsroom's production of the daily television news bulletins, particularly the prime time shows in the evening/night time belt.

I selected, lined up and vetted copies of news items and also coordinated with International and Singapore desk colleagues to include our foreign and bureau correspondents, as well as local ground reporters in our programmes. After the bulletins were put together, I also line-produced the shows live in our news studios.

I was also involved in special shows that CNA regularly put out, such as our Malaysia and Indonesia Election coverages over the years. Other historic newsroom events I contributed towards included the Indian Ocean and Fukushima tsunamis, the MH370 plane disappearance saga in 2014, and the Kim-Trump Summit in Singapore in 2018.

In my early years as TV news editor, I sub-edited, voiced and packaged news items, as well as conducted research phone interviews with relevant experts on topical issues of the day. I also produced a weekly half-hour news feature programme (Around Asia) for CNA.

Managed segment sponsorship of family related stories telecast on Talking Point and Focus (then, TCS's current affairs programmes)

Managed/oversaw production of parenting videos, aimed at improving parent-child relationship.

Managed production/launch of commissioned handbook on parenting teenagers ("Winning Ways With Teeens")

Researched and interviewed potential candidates for "Extraordinary People" - a current affairs programme on the lives of individuals who beat the odds and made an impact despite life's challenges.

Worked as a volunteer teacher under the auspices of the Singapore International Foundation.

Taught English as a second language to secondary school students and teachers of English in Hatay (outskirts of Hanoi), Vietnam.

Produced stories for "Talking Point", TCS's weekly English current affairs programme.

Reported for "NewsWatch - a news bulletin aimed at students in secondary schools and junior colleges.

Upon getting my degrees at the University of Winnipeg (Manitoba, Canada), I was posted to Sin Min High School where I taught English, Literature and History.

Upon graduation from the National Institute of Education, I was posted to Bedok View Primary School, where I taught for two years before taking no-pay leave to pursue my BA/BEdn at the University of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
